Blain v.f. expansus Børgesen, a rarely recorded ta xon of benthic green algae originally described from U.S.Virgin Islands, is reported for the first time to Cuba and the Bahamas. The species is depicted in the literature for the first time. A partir de muestras colectadas en la bahía de Cienfuegos y de Santa Lucía (Pinar del Río), se identificaron dos nuevos registros de macroalgas marinas (clorofitas) para Cuba: Cladophora blomquistii C. Hoek y Udotea fibrosa D. S. Littler & M. M. Littler. C. blomquistii se registra por primera vez para la región del Caribe ya que se había consignado solo para lagunas costeras de la Florida, y la parte noreste del golfo de México. Se ofrecen además comentarios sobre la taxonomía, ecología y biogeografía de las mencionadas especies. Two new species of the genus <i>Hypoglossum</i> Kützing (Delesseriaceae, Rhodophyta) are described: <i>H. androlamellare</i> sp. nov. from Zanzibar Island, Tanzania, and <i>H. annae</i> sp. nov. from the Malay Archipelago. The former is the first species of <i>Hypoglossum</i> to be reported from Tanzania and is distinguished by a combination of its overall habit, the chevron-like arrangement of the spermatangial sori, and the non-participation of lateral pericentral cells in sporangium formation within the tetrasporangia sori.
