| The objective of this research was to obtain the genetic divergence among eight sunflower genotypes by UPGMA clustering method using the Mahalanobis distance. Seven agronomic traits related to production were evaluated, and also determined the relative importance of characters in the discrimination of phenotypic variation. These measurements were performed on condition of free pollination and restricted pollination. The experimental design was a completely randomized block with four replications. The characters analyzed were: mass of capitulum, mass of 1000 achenes, number of achenes per inflorescence, vigor, germination, oil content and grain yield.
