Elite line, IR57514-PMI-5-B-1-2 was bred at International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) in 1987. Then it has been selected at Phimai Rice Research Station. After that, yield trials were conducted under rainfed lowland condition in North and Northest Thailand. When grown in famer field under drought prone during 1996 - 1999, this line gaved the highest yield by average 542 kg/rai and inter-station yield trials during 2002 - 2014 it yielded by average 598 kg/rai which were 22 and 17% higher than KDML105 in the tested field conditions. The adventages of this line are drought resistance, submergence tolelance, resistant to rice blast disease and high adaptation to grow under rainfed condition. Therefore, it is suitable for reducing the risk from climate... |

The effect of climate change on rice growth and yield had been studied during December, 2010 through March, 2012 at Chiang Rai Rice Research Center, Chiang Rai Province. Experimental design was split plot with three replications. Main plots were planting dates which designed to plant at monthly interval. Sub plots were rice varieties, consisting of Suphan Buri 1 (SPR1), and Suphan Buri 2 (SPR2). Planting method was pre-germinated seed broadcasting with seed rate of 15 kg/rai. The research found that planting in July was appropriate for both SPR1 and SPR2 variety in term of growth, growth duration and yield. Averaged plant heights were 136.4 and 122.3 cm with of SPR1 and SPR2 variety, respectively. The average yields were 827, and 678 kg/rai for SPR1 and... |

Study about the accordance of rice insect pests from the light trap and the research data of insects in the rice seed of San-pah-tawng 1 (weak) and that of SuphanBuri 1 (resistant) was conducted from the year 2011 to 2013 at the Chiang Rai Rice Research Center. It’s found that the rice insect pests entrapped by the light trap being increased from the year 2007 to 2010. That in May, 2011, 4,779 zigzag leafhoppers were mostly found; in March, 2012, 19,248 whitebacked planthoppers were mostly found and; in May, 2013, 19,047 zigzag leafhoppers were mostly found. In the paddy field, rice insect pests were found in the rice seed of San-pah-tawng 1 more than that of Suphan Buri 1. In the In-season rice of the year 2011, the White backed planthoppers were mostly... |
