การประเมินสายพันธุ์อินเบรดข้าวโพดข้าวเหนียวที่มีความต้านทานต่อโรคใบไหม้แผลใหญ่เพื่อใช้เป็นสายพันธุ์พ่อแม่ Thai Agricultural

Objective of this experiment was to evaluate the waxy corn inbred line that resistant to Northern Corn Leaf Blight and selected to use as parent line in hybrid production. Forty nine inbred lines from 4 sets of The Waxy Corn Breeding Program were grown and evaluated in dry season (December 2009-March 2010) at the National Corn and Sorghum Research Center.The result found that Kswi no. 4 and Kswi no. 24-4-1 were resistant to Northern Corn Leaf Blight and high yield. There was an inbred line that had the best level of resistance, Agsh2 302/Agwx13//Agsh2 302-BC1S2M7. Two inbred lines were good level of resistance, Agsh2 201/Agwx18//Agsh2 201-BC1S9 and Agsh2 201/Agwx18//Agsh2 201-BC1S2T7. And 2 inbred lines were moderately resistant level, Agsh2...

Downy mildew (DM), Peronosclerospora sorghi (Weston and Uppal) C.G. Shaw, is one of the most destructive diseases of maize (Zea mays L.) in Thailand. Understanding the genetic basis of downy mildew resistance could increase the efficiency of breeding for disease resistant germplasm. The objectives of this study were to use the SSR primers associated with QTLs which produced major effects, umc1072 found in chromosome bin 5.07, and bnlg1867 found in chromosome bin 6.01 used to transfer resistance alleles to susceptible lines by marker-assisted selection.
