การประเมินลักษณะเชื้อพันธุกรรมข้าวพื้นเมืองในพื้นที่ภาคเหนือตอนล่าง Thai Agricultural
Preamkamon Moonnilta; Jaturong Pipatpiriyanon; Nattanich Thawornkae; Kanyanai Kaewsanga.
Evaluations in genetic relationship amomg local rice genetic resources in the lower northern region were perform edusing cluster analysis method. In this study, a total number of 81 rice varieties were selected and clustered in both morphology traits by using the UPGMA of simple matching and agronomic traits by using the Square Euclidean by Ward method. From the morphology traits grouping results, there were 14 clusters (G1-G14) with4 main clusters i.e.Group 12 Group13 Group 2 and Group 6 which could be grouped. The results also showed that Group 12 has the highest number of members of rice varieties that was 56 varieties. The characteristics of Group 12’s members were green leaf, green leaf sheet, white pollen, yellow grain, non-glutinous rice and the...

การลดความรุนแรงของโรคไหม้ของข้าวโดยการปลูกแบบหลายสายพันธุ์ในภาคเหนือตอนล่าง Thai Agricultural
Acharaporn Na Lampang Noenplab.
This study was carried out at Phitsanulok Rice Research Center during 2008-2010 aiming for minimizing rice blast severity by growing 2 rice lines differed in blast resistance to broaden rice genetics. In 2008, resistance screening was performed on 2 sets of blast resistant rice lines derived from KDML105 having different donors of resistance developed by Ubon Ratchathani Rice Research Center. Ten selected blast isolates were inoculated one at a time onto 21 day-old seedlings at 50,000 spores/ml and kept at 25 o C in the controlled room for 7 days before assessment. Since selection criteria were based on resistance to half of the tested isolates and an ideal pair should have similar maturity, therefore, none of the lines have been selected. In 2009, the...

Rice blast is a one of the most important rice disease. It could cause severe yield damage. Therefore, it is vital for rice improvement aiming for blast resistance especially for those containing as good cooking quality as Khao Dawk Mali 105 (KDML105); Khao’ Jao Hawm Phitsanulok 1 (HPSL1) belongs to this group except a slightly longer maturity than that of KDML105. Nowadays, molecular technology has been used for a greater efficiency in selection through a marker assisted selection. DNA primers specific to gene(s) or QTLs related to rice blast defense mechanism were developed. In this study, a cross between HPSL1 and two donors; P280-2 and P280-5 was carried out. These donors contain blast resistance genes on chromosome 1, 2, 11 and 12 identified by 6...

สภาพฟ้าอากาศที่เปลี่ยนแปลง: ผลกระทบของอากาศหนาวเย็นต่อผลผลิตของข้าวในเขตภาคเหนือตอนล่าง Thai Agricultural
Acharaporn Na Lampang Noenplab.
Rice growing areas in the Lower North of Thailand has been severely affected by extreme climate change seen as cold injury in 2007 dry season. The total affected area was 621,176 rai (99,388 ha) resulted in a drastic loss of 2,749 million Baht ($US 89 million). Since it has been reported that the most sensitive stage to cool temperature is the young microspore stage, approximately 8.5-10 days before flowering, and the critical range of temperature for cold injury resulted in panicle sterility is 15-20 oC. This preliminary investigation firstly aimed to observe visible changes after exposing to cool temperatures. Secondly, to observe the relationship between low temperature and sterility. Thirdly, to measure a subsequent reduction in grain yield of rice cv....

The major rainfed rice growing area in the Lower North region of Thailand has good soil fertility. It has high potential to produce good rice varieties including aromatic rice. However, at present, Nahng Mon S-4 is the only aromatic, intermediate amylose content rice variety being officially released. Therefore, a selection for an aromatic, intermediate amylose content, high yield and resistant to major disease and insect pest is needed to provide the alternative for farmers. The promising line designated PSL04106-28-1-2-1-1-1 was obtained the double cross being HPSL1/Mudgo//HSRN/SPR90116-15-2-2-1-1///SPR90116-15-2-2-1-1 during 2002-2004. F1 and F2 were massively sown in 2005-2006, respectively. F3 and F4 were tested against brown plant hopper (BPH)...

In wet season, rainfed area in Lower Northern of Thailand has has an abundance of soil and water availability which is suitable for growing a photoperiod-sensitive rice with high yield potential. However, favorite rice varieties often have low yield and are susceptible to rice pests. Breeding for high yield and resistance to disease and insect pests while maintaining good eating quality is, therefore, the major approaches in changing rice varieties for good qualities, increased yield and adequate consumption. A promising lines, PSL97060-17-CNT-1-2-1, was obtained from three-way cross between KLG88028-22-1-2-2 and F1 of SPR88096-17-3-2-2 and IR60 at Phitsanulok Rice Research Center. Selection in F4-F6 was subsequently conducted at Chai Nat Rice Research...
