The objective of this study was to determine the effects of an exogenous emulsifier on performance and carcass traits of broiler. The exogenous emulsifier (sodium strearoyl-2-lactylate) was added 0.05% to the 3 levels reduction (0.70, 1.00 and 1.30 %) rice bran oil from control diets. The results showed that body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio, survival rate, productive index and feed cost/kg BW (FCG) were similar to the added emulsifier and control fed groups for 3 periods of testing (1-21, 22-35 and 36-42d of age). Effect of molasses and ammonium sulfate concentration on intracellular lipid accumulation by Trichosporon asahii Thai Agricultural

The objective of present study was to examine the effect of molasses and ammonium sulfate concentration on intracellular lipid accumulation by Trichosporon asahii. Nine culture media with different concentration of molasses (M,%) and ammonium sulfate (N,g/l) includings M8N0.5, M8N1.0, M8N1.5, M12N0.5, M12N1.0, M12N1.5, M16N0.5, M16N1.0 and M16N1.5 were randomly assigned in completely randomized design (CRD). Five milliliter of inoculums was transferred in 45 ml of media and incubated at 30oC with shaking at 160 rpm for 6 days. Results illustrated that lipid content was higher when T. asahii was cultured in the medium M12N0.5. This indicated that medium M12N0.5 was suitable for producing single cell oil for use as fat supplement in animal diet

Application of mulberry (Morus alba L.) for supplementing antioxidant activity in extruded Thai rice snack Thai Agricultural

Owing to creation of Thai rice snack with health benefits for higher potential in commercial scale, mulberry leaf was applied in the production of extruded snack product. Mulberry leaf in dried powder was mixed with rice, corn, soy, sugar, oil, vitamins and minerals to investigate the operating conditions with twin-screw extruder at varying mulberry content (5, 7.5 and 10%), screw speed (300 and 350 rpm) and feed moisture (13, 15 and 17%) in the 3 × 2 × 3 factorial experiment. The effects of organic acid (double-coated calcium butyrate base supplement) on performance and carcass traits of broiler chickens were assessed in three groups (PC, NC1 and NC2). The organic acid was added in three phases of feeding (1-21d, 22-35d, 36-42d) in PC, NC1 (PC deduction 40 kcal ME/kg and both methionine and lysine 1.5%) and NC2 (PC deduction 60 kcal ME/kg and both methionine and lysine 2.2%). Organic acid was added in PC with three period dosages 750-500-500 ppm and in both NC1 and NC2 1000-750-750 ppm. Addition organic acid in three controls (PC, NC1, NC2) showed similar performance of body weight gain, survival rate, feed conversion ratio and productive index, except for early starter period (1-21d of age).
