HSP70-2 is well accepted as an indicator of heat stress. The purpose of this study was to investigate the physiological responses to heat stress of differential genotypes of HSP70-2 in dairy cattle. Thirty two female Holstein Friesian (HF) crossbred heifers, 2-3 years of age, 266 ± 5.6 kg body weight were placed outdoor with partial roof. Blood samples were collected to do genotyping of HSP70-2 using polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) technique. Ambient temperature, relative humidity and physiological responses, including rectal temperature, respiration rate, sweating rate, pulse rate, skin temperature, and N/L ratio were examined at 06.00, 14.00, 18.00 and 22.00. Genotyping revealed that there were 14 and 18... |

Study was conducted to evaluate the chemical composition of Protein Block (PB) I, II and concentrate. The result of chemical analysis were showed that the dry matter (DM) 94.54, 93.48 and 89.16 percent; crude protein (CP) 45.85, 41.41 and 15.41 percent; crude fiber (CF) 4.26, 1.90 and 3.36 percent; ash 25.38, 26.99 and 6.36 percent; and ether extract (EE) 8.58, 1.18 and 4.98 percent, respectively. Nutrients digestibility and energy contents were studied by gas production technique. The predication values of organic matter digestibility of protein block I, protein block II and concentrate residue were 84.56 ± 5.08, 75.41 ± 2.68 and 114.86 ± 0.89 percent, metabolizable energy (ME) 7.65 ± 1.30, 8.33 ± 1.61 and 9.89 ±1.19 MJ/kg and net energy for lactation... |

Eight improved clones of forage-cane were evaluated for biomass yield performance under irrigatedcondition at Kasetsart University, Kamphaeng Saen campus, Nakhon Pathom during 2011-2012. The study wasdesigned with randomized complete blocks design with 4 replications in 3 crop-cycles, newly planted, first-ratoon and second ratoon that harvested at 6, 4 and 4 month after planting/ratooning, respectively. Total fresh biomass yield from 3 crop-cycles was 40.47 ton/rai. The total yield of 3 crop-cycles varied between 27.44 and 46.46 ton/rai. High biomass yield obtained from the new clones 28-2113, 28-2114 and 28-1727 that were equal to 46.46, 44.86 and 42.96 ton/rai, respectively. Although, three new forage-cane clones had high potential of biomass yield.... |
