Four commercially grown wheat varieties of Pakistan, namely Inqilab-91, Chakwal-97, Tatara and Manthar were used for this investigation. For callus induction different concentrations of 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyaceticacid (2,4-D) along with 0.1 mg/L of Kinetin were evaluated. For regeneration initially different concentrations of Indole-3-Acetic Acid (IAA) and 6-BenzylAminoPurine (BAP) were tested. Best hormone combinations were further subjected to Kinetin and 6-γ-γ-dimethylallylaminopurine (2iP). Background: Currently, microbial fermentation method has become the research hotspot for acetoin production. In our previous work, an acetoin-producing strain, Bacillus subtilis SF4-3, was isolated from Japanese traditional fermented food natto. However, its conversion of glucose to acetoin was relatively low. Lacasse is one of the extracellular enzymes excreted from white and brown rot fungi, which is involved in ligninolysis. In the present study, the effects of the addition of lacasse inducers to the medium on enhancement of enzyme production under conditions of submerged fermentation were researched. At first, a culture medium was selected suitable for lacasse production. To increase the production of lacasse using different inducers and to examine the ability of dechlorination, this article focuses on screen lacasse activity of 21 basidiomycetes isolates grown in five culture media. A tephra layer with normal grading in the sub‐bottom depth interval 119–122 cm in marine core SO202‐27‐6 was collected on Patton Seamount in the northeast North Pacific Ocean. Based on the geochemistry of volcanic glass shards determined by a wavelength dispersive electron probe micro‐analyser and an X‐ray fluorescence analyser, this layer is correlated to the Dawson tephra, a widespread late Pleistocene time marker tephra in Alaska and the Yukon. The age of the Dawson tephra in the core is 29.03 ± 0.178 ka (1 sigma) based on a published age model. O composto diclorofenoxiacetato (2,4-D) foi o primeiro herbicida orgânico, sistêmico, seletivo e de aplicação em pós-emergência desenvolvido no mundo. Juntamente com a revolução verde, ele contribuiu para elevar a produção dos cereais nas décadas posteriores a 1950. Esse produto é uma auxina sintética que pode ser utilizada como regulador do crescimento vegetal ou, ainda, como herbicida para o controle de espécies daninhas dicotiledôneas. As espécies de plantas aquáticas podem causar inúmeros inconvenientes ao uso múltiplo da água quando elas se desenvolvem desordenadamente. Assim, o objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência de diferentes herbicidas no controle químico de plantas de Alternanthera philoxeroides, Enhydra anagallis e Pycreus decumbens em caixa-d'água. Com o objetivo de avaliar o efeito de herbicidas em diferentes acessos de aguapé coletados em reservatórios de hidrelétricas do Estado de São Paulo, foi realizado um estudo no Núcleo de Pesquisas Avançadas em Matologia da FCA-UNESP, campus de Botucatu. A escolha das plantas geneticamente diferentes foi feita com base em estudos de variabilidade genética, nos quais se utilizou a técnica de RAPD. Avaliaram-se, neste trabalho, os efeitos dos herbicidas ametryn, 2,4-D, trifloxysulfuron-sodium e da mistura ametryn+trifloxysulfuron-sodium na nutrição mineral e no crescimento da cana-de-açúcar. Somatic embryogenesis represents a valuable tool for the studies on the basic aspects of plant embryo development. Today this process is used as a potencial technique for large-scale plant micropropagation although, so far, it has been applied to only a small number of species. 2,3,5-triphenyltetrazolium chloride (TTC) is a dye largely used for enumeration of microbial colonies in solid culture media, being a key component of the dry rehydratable film system used for microbiological analysis of food. This dye is colorless in the oxidized form and red when reduced by microorganisms, due to formation of formazan. Existen algunos datos epidemiológicos que demuestran que, en poblaciones rurales, la frecuencia de lesiones inflamatorias de origen infeccioso en el riñón es mayor en individuos expuestos a pesticidas.
