Sources de variation de la forme des otolithes: Implications pour la discrimination des stocks de poissons ArchiMer
Mahe, Kelig.
The assessment and management of fish populations is based on the use of management units called fish stocks. The shape of otoliths, calcified structures of the fish's inner ear, can be used to discriminate these stocks. First, this thesis focuses on the study of the spatio-temporal variability of the otolith’s shape for three fish species with different ecological characteristics (size, swimming speed, behaviour in the water column, etc.) and biogeographical environments. The results showed that there is a decreasing structural gradient across stock sizes from large pelagic species to more localised demersal species. This is linked to the fact that some demersal species such as the bogue (Boops boops) are constrained by the presence of geographical...

Ecologie trophique de l'espèce ingénieur Crepidula fornicata et implications pour le fonctionnement de son habitat ArchiMer
Androuin, Thibault.
The slipper limpet (Crepidula fornicata) is an invasive species of European coasts. Protandric hermaphrodite, this gregarious species forms individuals' stacks which accumulate in high density on bottom. For a long time considered as a detrimental invader, the slipper limpet is also an ecosystem engineer, modifying its habitat both physically and biologically. It is model to study how invasive and engineer species can structure and modify the ecosystem that they colonize. In this Ph.D. thesis, these effects have been examined through the trophic functioning of habitats colonized by the slipper limpet, with a special reference to the primary benthic production. Experimental stimulation of subtidal microphytobenthos (MPB) has been demonstrated by the...

Modulation des performances cardio-respiratoires du bar europeen (Dicentrarchus labrax) par l'apport d'acides gras alimentaires: une etude integree des effets cardiaques in vivo au courant calcique de type L des myocytes ventriculaires ArchiMer
Chatelier, Aurelien.
Diet quality, and particularly fatty acids composition, is an environmental factor that is emerging as a significant source of physiological diversity. Indeed, numerous recent studies show that the fatty acid composition of the diet influences cardiac and metabolic performances of organisms. Because it is involved in the control and regulation of internal flow of matter and energy, the heart is believed to play a central role in environmental adaptation in fish. Within the double context of adaptation of individuals to their ecological niche and species evolution, understanding sources of interindividual variability and particularly fatty acid influences on the cardiorespiratory system is essential. The objective of the study was to investigate in the sea...

Response of common carp (Cyprinus carpio) larvae to different dietary levels and forms of supply of medium-chain fatty acids ArchiMer
Fontagne, Stéphanie; Corraze, Genevieve; Bergot, Pierre.
The effects of dietary medium-chain fatty acids (MCFA) on survival, growth and fatty acid composition of first-feeding carp larvae were investigated in two 21-day feeding trials. In trial 1, one diet CO was supplemented with 10% coconut oil, two diets, M1 and M2 with 1.7 or 4.2% interesterified medium-chain triacylglycerols (MCT), and two other diets T1 and T2 with 1% tricaprylin and 0.7% tricaprin, or 2.5% tricaprylin and 1.7% tricaprin. The five diets were made isolipidic (18% of dry diet) with triolein and compared to a control diet without MCFA. With a low dietary level (1% of dry diet) of caprylic acid (C8:0), final survival and mean weight of larvae fed CO, M1 and T1 were not significantly different from those of control (68 +/- 6% and 62 +/- 8 mg,...

Etude comparative des lipides de la boutargue du mulet à grosse tête (<Mugil cephalus>, linné 1758) de l’océan Atlantique : Nouakchott (Mauritanie) et de la mer Méditerranée : Tunis (Tunisie) OceanDocs
Romdhane, M.S.; El Cafsi, M.; Beddih, M.L.O.A.; Marzouk, B.; Zarrouk, K..
The boutargue is the salty and dried ovary of the mullet (Mugil cephalus) from Nouakchott (Mauritania) and Tunis (Tunisia). In order to know the nutritional quality of the boutargue, we have used an analytic analysis and dosages of lipids and their fat acids. For this study, we used two different methods of extraction of the lipids: method of Folch modified by Bligh and Dyer and the method of Soxhlet. These experiences show that the boutargue of mullet is rich in lipids, 30.9% in Nouakchott (Atlantic Ocean) and 27,4% in Tunis (Mediterranean Sea). The boutargue is with good nutritional quality. Indeed, each gram of boutargue contains 28,1 mg of fatty acids in Nouakchott and 19,7 mg in Tunisia. Theses fatty acids are subdivide in 3 essential groups: - Fatty...
