Caracterización fermentativa de biodigestores de cerdaza y aislamiento de una arqueobacteria metanogénica. Colegio de Postgraduados

El objetivo de este experimento fue obtener una arqueobacteria metanogénica en cultivo puro, aislarla, caracterizarla morfológicamente y conservarla mediante liofilización. El experimento fue realizado de enero a septiembre del 2012 en el laboratorio de Microbiología Ruminal y Genética Microbiana del Colegio de Postgraduados. Para el aislamiento se utilizó un medio de cultivo selectivo a base de formato y fluido ruminal clarificado (FOR-FR), la arqueobacteria aislada se caracterizó morfológicamente y se conservó mediante liofilización. Swine farming emit several odorous volatile organic compounds, one of which is p-cresol. Considering the layout of a swine barn, adsorption is one of the most suitable technologies for mitigating organic pollutants. In this study, commercial granular activated carbon (GAC) was tested as an adsorbent for removing p-cresol from aqueous solution. SOx and NOx are emissions resulting from combustion processes and are the main agents that contribute to the formation of acid rain, which causes harm to humans and the environment. Several techniques for removing these pollutants are applied in i.e. oil refineries, thermoelectric that use petroleum oils and vehicular pollution. Among these, highlight the adsorption of contaminants by the usage of activated carbon fibers and activated carbon, which are characterized by high surface area and uniform distribution of pores, providing appropriate conditions for application in processes of removing environmental contaminants.
