Quinoa has been gaining attention because of its nutritional quality, low cholesterol and lack of gluten; in Brazil, the cultivation efforts in the different regions are mainly related to breeding. This study aimed to determine the genetic parameters and evaluate the productivity of the different genotypes of quinoa for detecting genotypes amenable to selection. The experiment was conducted in crop years 2010/11 and 2011/12 in environment 1 and environment 2, respectively. In environment 1, the evaluation of 61 genotypes was performed, and in environment 2, 31 genotypes were evaluated. The experimental design was a randomized block with two replications; each plot measured 2.0 x 5.0 m (10 m²) and consisted of four rows spaced at 0.45 m. Data collected on... |

Grouping of genotypes by canonical variable analysis is an important tool in breeding. It allows the grouping of individuals with similar characteristics that are associated with superior agronomic performance and may indicate the ideal profile of a plant for the region. The objective of the present study was to define, by canonical analysis, the agronomic profile of Panicum maximum plants adapted to the Agreste region. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with 28 treatments, 22 genotypes of Panicum maximum, and cultivars Mombasa, Tanzania, Massai, Milenio, BRS Zuri, and BRS Tamani in triplicate in 4-m² plots. Plots were harvested five times and the following traits were evaluated: plant height; total, leaf, and stem; dead dry... |

Abstract: The objective of this work was to characterize the productive and qualitative performances of 11 clones of 'Bordô' grape (Vitis labrusca) destined to wine and juice production, in the region of Vale do Rio do Peixe, in the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The experiment was carried out in the 2011, 2012, 2014, and 2015 crop seasons. The analyzed yield components were: number of clusters per vine, yield, cluster weight, accumulated yield, and alternate bearing index. The analyzed morphological characteristics of clusters were: number of berries per cluster, berry diameter, cluster compactness index, and cluster length. In order to assess grape quality, the following parameters were analyzed: soluble solids (SS), pH, titratable acidity (TA), SS/TA... |

Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the productive performance, biological efficiency, and the competitive ability of the forage cactus-sorghum intercropping under different irrigation depths with saline water in the Brazilian Semiarid Region. The experiment was carried out in Serra Talhada, in the state of Pernambuco, between 2014 and 2015, in a randomized complete block design, with four replicates, and a 5x3 factorial arrangement in split plots, with one year of forage cactus cycle and two years of sorghum cycles. The plots were composed by four irrigation water depths based on the fractions of 25, 50, 75, and 100% of the reference evapotranspiration, besides dry conditions; and the subplots consisted of three cropping systems (single... |

ABSTRACT: STS cultivars tolerate up to four times higher rates of chlorimuron than those recommended for non-tolerant cultivars, without significant damage. However, few studies position the selectivity of nicosulfuron in STS cultivars. The aim of this study was to assess the selectivity of rates of the herbicide nicosulfuron applied in the post-emergence (V4) of RR/STS soybean. The experiments were conducted in the 2015/16 and 2016/17 seasons in Piracicaba, SP. In the 2016/17 season, the experiment was also conducted in Palotina, PR. Treatments consisted of six rates of the herbicide nicosulfuron (0, 50, 100, 150, 200, and 250 g a.i. ha-1). The experimental design was a randomized block design with four replications. The symptoms of injury were assessed... |
