| O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar a eficiência da sobressemeadura da soja, utilizando plantas de cobertura, na redução da emergência de plantas daninhas e seus reflexos na produtividade da cultura da soja cultivada na safra seguinte. O delineamento utilizado foi de blocos ao acaso, em esquema de parcelas subdivididas, com o fator época na parcela e o fator plantas de cobertura nas subparcelas, com quatro repetições. A soja foi semeada em quatro épocas: 1) 27/10/2005, 2) 10/11/2005, 3) 24/11/2005 e 4) 14/12/2005, em sistema de plantio direto, correspondendo a quatro épocas de sobressemeadura das plantas de cobertura, as quais ocorreram, respectivamente, em: a) 30/1/2006, b) 13/2/2006, c) 22/2/2006 e d) 14/3/2006. | Due to the increase of water deficiency in many farm regions and its meaning on weed interference, competitive interactions between soybean and three weeds were evaluated under water stress (20 to 40 days after transplanting) and no stress conditions. Three independent experiments were carried out in a growth chamber, being each one composed by the weeds Alternanthera tenella, Tridax procumbens or Digitaria ciliaris, along with the crop, in which soil water condition and plant composition effects were evaluated while in competition. | O glyphosate é um herbicida não-seletivo, sistêmico, usado para controle de plantas daninhas anuais e perenes em todo o mundo. A absorção da molécula do glyphosate ocorre pelos tecidos fotossinteticamente ativos das plantas, porém alguns fatores podem reduzir sua eficácia, como a morfologia e diversidade de espécies, chuva após aplicação, qualidade da água e misturas em tanque com outros defensivos, entre outros. | ABSTRACT This study was conducted to evaluate the efficacy of joyweed (Alternanthera tenella) control and antagonistic or synergistic potentials of saflufenacil herbicide applied alone or tank mixed with paraquat, metribuzin and clomazone. The experiment was conducted in a greenhouse in a completely randomized design with four replications. Treatments consisted of saflufenacil herbicide doses (0, 0.4, 0.7, 1.4, 2.1 and 2.8 g ha-1) applied isolated or associated with paraquat (0, 1 and 3 g ha-1), metribuzin (0, 38.4 and 105.6 g ha-1) or clomazone (0, 288 and 504 g ha-1). | This research investigates effects of salicylic acid (an abiotic elicitor) on the antioxidant activity and betacyan production from leaves of Alternanthera tenella cultured in vitro was evaluated. Plants were grown in a liquid MS medium and vermiculite substrate. After 35 days salicylic acid was added to the medium. Content of betacyanins, total phenols and flavonoids and non-enzymatic antioxidant capacity were determined in leaves of A. tenella after 0, 12, 36 and 48h of treatment. After 36h, concentration of betacyanins and total phenols increased. On the other hand, the increase of the treatment time caused a slight decrease in total flavonoids and reduced the DPPH free radical activity.
