| A forelimb of a new sauropod dinosaur (Angolatitan adamastor n. gen. et sp.) from the Late Turonian of Iembe (Bengo Province) represents the first dinosaur discovery in Angola, and is one of the few occurrences of sauropod dinosaurs in sub-Saharan Africa collected with good chronological controls. The marginal marine sediments yielding the specimen are reported to be late Turonian in age and, thus it represents a non-titanosaurian sauropod in sub-Saharan Africa at a time taken to be dominated by titanosaurian forms. Moreover, Angolatitan adamastor is the only basal Somphospondyli known in the Late Cretaceous which implies in the existence of relict forms in Africa. |

| High-precision U-series dating of scleractinian cold-water corals is a key chronological tool for studies of past environmental and climate conditions. Here, we tested and optimized an automated chemical extraction system (ESI prepFAST-MC equipped with an Eichrom TRU-resin chromatographic column) for its ability to purify U and Th isotopes for mass spectrometric U-series dating at the sub-‰ precision level. Chemical yields are constantly high, on average around 90% for both U and Th. | Genus Maerua has around 60 species represented on the African continent, of which three have been reported for Angola. Two new species of Maerua (Capparaceae) from Angola are here described. Both are closely similar to M. juncea subsp. juncea, being distinguished by floral traits such as the receptacle, androphore and gynophore (M. pintobastoae) or leaf traits such as venation, as well as size and shape of the ovary and disc shape (M. mendesii). A key for Maerua species occurring in Angola is provided, as well as a table summarizing and comparing the morphological characters for the new species and similar African species. | La rabia es una zoonosis reportada por la Organización Mundial de la Salud (OMS) con una elevada mortalidad en África e Asia. | Con el objetivo de identificar los conocimientos y las fuentes de información, así como evaluar un programa de educación comunitaria sobre rabia, se realizó un estudio de intervención, en personas residentes en el municipio Huambo, provincia del mismo nombre, durante los años 2008-2009. La investigación se llevó a cabo en tres etapas: diagnóstico de conocimientos, aplicación de la intervención y evaluación de la intervención.
