CCAMLR is a Convention for the conservation of living marine resources in the Antarctic that manages fisheries taking into account the marine ecosystem. Targets for fishery are krill, toothfish, icefish, squids and crabs. For that purpose, the Commission meets annually and decides upon Conservation measures. It receives scientific advice from its Scientific Committee. The Scientific Committee receives advice and input from its working groups on Ecosystem Monitoring and Management (WG-EMM), on Fish Stock Assessment (WG-FSA), and on Incidental Mortality in Antarctic Fisheries (WG-IMAF).
