| RESUMO Apresentamos aqui a lista de espécies de abelhas registradas para o estado de Mato Grosso do Sul, disponíveis em banco de dados de Coleções Científicas e registradas na literatura, além de coletas próprias realizadas em várias localidades no estado, englobando diferentes fitofisionomias. O total de espécies de abelhas registradas para Mato Grosso do Sul é de 386 espécies, incluindo morfoespécies, distribuídas em 107 gêneros e cinco subfamílias. A subfamília mais diversa é Apinae, seguida de Megachilinae, Halictinae, Colletinae e Andreninae. Acrescentamos para o Mato Grosso do Sul novos registros de distribuição de 97 espécies de abelhas. |

| The composition and diversity of bees in an agricultural area in Rio Claro, state of São Paulo, Brazil, were studied from May 2003 to June 2004, using Moericke traps. The collection site, an area with 58.08 hectares, is characterized by grain production and direct planting, with 70% of the surrounding area planted with sugar cane. During the study, 456 bees were collected, distributed among 20 genera, pertaining to the families Andrenidae (4.8%), Apidae (40.8%) and Halictidae (54.4%). Specimens of genera Dialictus (38%) and Diadasia (30%) predominated in this area. The species diversity, assessed using the Shannon and Simpson indices, were H=1.88 and 1/ D= 4.15, respectively, and the Evenness index was 0.61. |

| A fauna de abelhas da Mata com Araucária foi inventariada no entorno de um fragmento no município de Porto União, SC. Foram realizadas coletas mensais entre outubro/2005 e outubro/2006, com rede entomológica diretamente nas flores, além de três tipos de armadilha: iscas de cheiro, ninhos-armadilha e pratos-armadilha. Foram amostradas 1.711 abelhas pertencentes a 164 espécies, distribuídas nas cinco famílias de abelhas ocorrentes no Brasil. Do total, 1339 abelhas de 130 espécies foram amostradas com rede entomológica, 346 indivíduos de 72 espécies foram coletados nos pratos-armadilha, 24 abelhas de nove espécies foram capturadas através dos ninhos-armadilha e dois indivíduos de uma espécie foram amostrados com iscas de cheiro. | This study evaluated the bee community and their associated melliferous plants in the northern region of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil in order to ascertain the diversity and floral interactions of the local Apidae. Twelve samplings were conducted (April 2006 to March 2007) in transects, where nets were used to capture bees directly from their flowers. Voucher specimens for both bees and plants were deposited at UNIVILLE. Diversity and equitability indexes were calculated. | This review aims to perform a survey of the main floral resources available to social, semi-social or solitary bees from the Caatinga biome, focusing on botanical species most commonly found in tree, shrub, sub-shrub, herbaceous, as well as climber species. The floral rewards offered to Brazilian semiarid bees are mainly pollen, nectar, perfumes, nesting sites, resins and oils. The difficulty found for the maintenance of beekeeping activities, due mainly to the harsh environment to which the bees are inserted, can be mitigated through management practices coupled with the diversification of apiculture pasture.
