Survey of bacterial leaf blight disease (BLB) on irrigated rice cropping in Phrae and Uttaradit provinces was conducted during January 2011 – December 2012, BLB was appeared in Mueang, Song, Nong Muang Khai, Sung Men, Den Chai and Long districts in Phrae province; Mueang, Tron and Phichai districts in Uttaradit province. Caused by susceptible rice cultivars and continuous cropping in combination with suitable conditions, induced the pathogen to infect. In addition, the farmers used improper chemical control resulted as the incidence increased. To study on efficiency of bactericide to control BLB in the proper area, pure bacterium isolations were studied at six isolates of Phrae and twenty-six isolates of Uttaradit.
