Profile of Serum Metabolites and Proteins of Broiler Breeders in Rearing Age Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Rezende,MS; Mundim,AV; Fonseca,BB; Miranda,RL; Oliveira Jr,W; Lellis,CG.
ABSTRACT The excellence of modern broiler production is based on the genetic improvement of broiler strains for high growth rate and high egg production, associated with technological developments in nutrition, management, and health. Over the last decades, the clinical biochemistry of broilers has been studied to determine serum biochemical component values; however, there are still many knowledge gaps on factors that determine changes in these values. In this study, the serum lipid and protein profiles of 4-week-old male and female Cobb broiler breeders were evaluated. Blood samples were collected on a commercial farm located in the city of Uberlândia, MG, Brazil. The following parameters were evaluated: total protein, albumin, globulin, albumin to...

Milk composition and blood metabolic profile from holstein cows at different calving orders and lactation stages Animal Sciences
Dias, Mariana Borges de Castro; Leão, Karen Martins; Carmo, Ruthele Moraes do; Silva, Marco Antônio Pereira da; Nicolau, Edmar Soares; Marques, Thaisa Campos.
This study aimed to evaluate milk composition and metabolic profile of Holstein cows at different calving orders in the beginning, middle, and end of lactation. One hundred ten Holstein cows were housed in a free stall system receiving the same diet and were grouped according to calving order (first, second, third, and fourth calving) and days in milk (DIM): early (1-90 DIM), middle (91-180 DIM), and end of lactation (over 181 DIM) for comparing milk yield, milk composition, and blood metabolic profile between the calving orders within the same lactation period. These parameters were also evaluated between lactation periods of the cows in different calving orders. The calving order, in any lactation stage, had no influence on milk yield per day and blood...

Biochemical responses in mice experimentally infected with Paracoccidioides brasiliensis and treated with Canova BABT
Takahachi,Gisele; Maluf,Márcia Luzia Ferrarezi; Svidzinski,Terezinha Inez Estivalet; Akimoto-Günther,Luciene Setsuko; Hübler,Márcia Rosangela Neves de Oliveira; Bersani-Amado,Ciomar Aparecida; Cuman,Roberto Kenji Nakamura.
The objective of this work was to evaluate biochemical parameters in Paracoccidioides brasiliensis infected mice and the effect of Canova medicine on these parameters. Mice infected with the isolate Paracoccidioides brasiliensis Pb18 and treated with Canova for 17 weeks were used. The biochemical parameters analysed were the levels of aspartate aminotransferase, alanine aminotransferase, alkaline phosphatase and amylase, and the concentration of total proteins, albumin and globulins. The results suggested that the animals that were treated with Canova had less functional alterations in their internal organs.
