Conception d’un système intégré de mesure de bioimpédance pour le suivi long terme de la composition des tissus biologiques ArchiMer
Lamlih, Serge.
Tissue composition assessment techniques are used to help better comprehend physiological processes and their overall impact on the biological state of the experiments subjects. The research presented in this manuscript aims to design a bioimpedance spectroscopy integrated measurement system capable of measuring a wide range of biomarkers over long periods of time (up to one year). The presented measurement system can be used for physiological variables long time monitoring applications in general. Nevertheless, the presented solutions target in particular fish species in the context of the POPSTAR project which aims to enhance our understanding of fish behavior by analyzing not only the environment in which fish travel and live but also the fish...

Anthropometric Characteristics and Body Composition in Aikido Practitioners International Journal of Morphology
Reguli,Zdenko; Bernaciková,Martina; Kumstát,Michal.
Although aikido is a non-competitive martial art, it is recognised by SportAccord as worldwide practiced combat sport. There is a lack of scientific research in aikido and the influence of aikido practice on the human body is not known. This is the first study that presents anthropometric characteristics and body composition data in aikido practitioners. 33 adult male aikido athletes (age 36.5±9.6 years, height 178±8 cm, weight 81.2±10.1 kg) were measured. All subjects were divided from beginner to intermediate and advanced group, and were recruited from the Czech Aikido Federation which is officially recognised by the centre of aikido in Japan. As main methods, bio impedance and skinfold measurements were realized. In aikido, body composition does not...

Discrimination of Different Body Structure Indexes of Elite Athletes in Combat Sports Measured by Multi Frequency Bioimpedance Method International Journal of Morphology
Dopsaj,Milivoj; Markovic,Milan; Kasum,Goran; Jovanovic,Srecko; Koropanovski,Nenad; Vukovic,Marko; Mudric,Milos.
In order to achieve high results in sports, it is necessary to provide an adequate status of an athlete in according to various factors, among which the body structure is one of greater importance. The aim of this research is to define the most discriminated indicators of body structure indexes, thanks to which a specific change of physical structure can be observed according to a branch of sport and type of combat sport. Variables in the research were: body height, body mass, body mass index, free fat mass index, fat mass index, protein mass index, skeletal muscle mass index, percent of body fat, percent of skeletal muscle mass and protein fat index. The measuring of the body composition is realized by using multichannel segmental bioimpedance with InBody...

Inconsistency Between the Body Fat Percentages Estimated Through Anthropometric Measurements and Manual Bioimpedance in Children and Adolescents International Journal of Morphology
Lizana Arce,Pablo José; Almagià Flores,Atilio Aldo; Simpson Lelievre,María Cristina; Olivares Barraza,Rosy; Binvignat Gutiérrez,Octavio; Ivanovic Marincovich,Daniza; Berral de la Rosa,Francisco José.
The rate is assessed as per the body fat percentages (%BF) estimated through anthropometric measurements and manual bioimpedance, according to gender and adiposity rate within the paediatric population. The %BF is assessed by anthropometry using the Slaughter equation for cutaneous skinfolds and manual bioimpedance (Omron model HBF-306INTTM) to 321 students (160 females and 161 males) between 10-18 years. The association degree among the methods was measured using the Pearson correlation coefficient (r). The consistency among methods was analysed through the intra-class correlation coefficient (ICC) and the consistency correlation coefficient of Lin (CCC), grouping the population by gender and adiposity rate. The reference method was the cutaneous...

Use of murinometrics indices and bioelectrical impedance (BIA) in the determination of experimental obesity in oophorectomized rats Biological Sciences
Ferraz, Alex Soares Marreiros; Moraes, Ruan Carlos Macêdo de; Sá, Naiza Arcângela Ribeiro de; Andrade, Francisco Teixeira; Martins, Maria do Carmo de Carvalho e; Ceccatto, Vânia Marilande.
In this study, we tested the use of murinometric indices and bioimpedance (BIA) to determine obesity in rats. Female Wistar rats (8 weeks/130-160 g) were divided into control and oophorectomy group. The Body Mass Index (BMI) and Lee index (LI) were used as anthropometric techniques to determine obesity, and the determination of body composition by BIA, as a way to partition body weight into fat mass and lean mass components. The dissection of muscle tissues and adipose deposits was used as a direct determination of body fat content. The groups had body weight gain (p <0.05) after the trial period, with a differential gain in body fat (p <0.05) observed by the dissection of tissue in the oophorectomy group. This gain in body fat was detected more...
