Duistere heiderouwzwever Exoprosopa cleomene duikt op in Nederlandse wolzwevercollectie (Diptera: Bombyliidae) Naturalis
Smit, J.T..

Two new Southern African Apatomyza Wiedemann (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Crocidiinae) with discussion on their phylogenetic position Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Lamas,Carlos José Einicker; Evenhuis,Neal L..
Two new species of Apatomyza Wiedemann from South Africa, A. whocantell spec. nov. and A. angusticephala spec. nov., are described, illustrated, and placed within the most recent key to species. Into the data matrix recently used to infer a phylogenetic hypothesis for the subfamily, were added the two new taxa, in order to verify their position and relationships. They form the most apical clade in Apatomyza.

Influence of parasitoid Paravilla sp. (Diptera, Bombyliidae) on the development of larvae of Myrmeleon brasiliensis (Návas, 1914) (Neuroptera, Myrmeleontidae) Pap. Avulsos de Zool. (São Paulo)
Nonato,Lucimara Modesto; Graciolli,Gustavo; Lima,Tatiane do Nascimento.
Abstract Parasitoids manipulate the host metabolism for their own benefit by influencing its development and the direct or indirect result of it is the host death. This study aimed to observe the influence of parasitoidism of Paravilla sp. (Diptera, Bombyliidae) on the development of antlion larvae Myrmeleon brasiliensis (Návas, 1914) (Neuroptera, Myrmeleontidae). The specific objectives were to verify in which larval instars the parasitoid oviposition occurs, the influence of the parasitoid on the larval and pupal development time of M. brasiliensis, the differences in body length of the antlion larvae, as well as of the sex ratio of M. brasiliensis adults. For this, the larvae were differentiated in 1st, 2nd and 3rd instar and measures on body length...

Five new associations of parasitoids in potter wasps (Vespidae, Eumeninae). New associations of host and parasitoids involving potter wasps: Toxophora leucon and Pleurochrysis sp. were found parasitizing Cyphomenes anisitsii, Chrysis sp. (gr. intricans) was found parasitizing Minixi suffusum, Plega beardi was found parasitizing Montezumia pelagica sepulchralis and Macrosiagon sp. was found parasitizing Pachodynerus nasidens.

Revisão de Euprepina Hull (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae) Zoologia
Lamas,Carlos José Einicker; Couri,Márcia Souto.
Euprepina Hull, 1971 (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae) a neotropical genus with ten species is revised. Redescriptions of eight species were made: E. nuda Hull, 1971, E. amabilis (Wulp, 1881), E. beckeri Lamas & Couri, 1998, E. bicincta (Wiedemann, 1830), E. caminaria (Wiedemann, 1830), E. knutsoni Hull, 1971, E. maracajula Hull, 1971 and E. truxalia Hull, 1971, with illustrations of the types, male terminalia and spermathecae. Two synonymies - E. bicincta (Wiedemann, 1830), syn.: E. bicincta Hull, 1971; and E. nuda Hull, 1971, syn.: E. shannoni Hull, 1971 - are proposed. A key to species are presented except to E. goyaz (Macquart, 1840) and E. aperta (Macquart, 1847), which were not included in this study, as no material was examined.

Análise cladística de Euprepina Hull (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae) Zoologia
Lamas,Carlos José Einicker; Couri,Márcia Souto.
A cladistic analysis of Euprepina Hull, 1971 (Diptera, Bombyliidae, Bombyliinae), a Neotropical genus that includes ten species, was made. The cladogram was obtained from eight studied species, based on a data matrix with 21 characters, using the program Hennig86. Character states were polarized following outgroup analysis, and an hypothetical ancestor was included in the analysis in order to root the tree. The options used, "ie*" and "xs w", resulted in four most parsimonious trees with ci = 79, ri = 80 and length 115. The monophiletism of Euprepina was supported by two synapomorphies.
