New species of the genera Megischus Brullé and Stephanus Jurine from China (Hymenoptera: Stephanoidea: Stephanidae), with a key to world species of the genus Stephanus Naturalis
Achterberg, C. van; Yang, Z.-q..
Three new species of the genera Megischus Brullé and Stephanus Jurine from China (Hymenoptera: Stephanoidea: Stephanidae) are described, illustrated and keyed. Megischus ptosimae Chao, 1964, from Fujian is redescribed and the specimen from India described as M. ptosimae Chao by van Achterberg (2002) is renamed as M. alveolifer spec. nov. and the Malaysian specimen of M. ducalis Westwood listed by van Achterberg (2002) is described as M. ducaloides spec. nov. M. ducalis Westwood, 1851, is reported for the first time from Cambodia, which is the first report after its description. A key to world species of the genus Stephanus is provided.

First record of Braconidae as parasitoids of Capnodis tenebrionis (Linnaeus) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae), with notes on the ecology of Spathius erythrocephalus Wesmael (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) Naturalis
Bonsignore, C.P.; Achterberg, C. van; Vacante, V..
For the first time an ichneumonoid parasitoid is reported from the peach flatheaded rootborer Capnodis tenebrionis (Linnaeus, 1758) (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) in a heavily infested plum and apricot orchard in south-western Sicily. In 2005 and 2006 the ecology of the ectoparasitoid Spathius erythrocephalus Wesmael, 1838, (Hymenoptera: Braconidae) was studied. The larvae are ectophagous and gregarious; obviously the parasitoid search for the large buprestid larval (6.0 ± 0.4 cm). The adult parasitoid appeared in both cultivations in August and/or September and selected only the mature larvae for oviposition. In 2006 35% of the rootborer larvae on plum were parasitized. Significant diff erences were found between the mean depth in the soil in which parasitized...

Changing distributions of Cantharidae and Buprestidae within Great Britain (Coleoptera) Naturalis
Alexander, K..
Changing distributions of Cantharidae and Buprestidae within Great Britain (Coleoptera) Data are presented on the distribution of selected species from two coleopteran families chosen to represent a random slice of the British fauna. The species have been chosen as exhibiting extremes of range changes, from declining species, through stable distributions, to expanding species. Examination of this small group of beetles already reveals significant changes, some of which may be related to global climate change. Predictions can be made about which others of these beetle families are likely to show detectable changes in range in the near future.

Nieuws over de Nederlandse prachtkevers (Coleoptera: Buprestidae) Naturalis
Vorst, O.; Heijerman, Th.; Teunissen, D.; Keijl, G..
Trachys scrobiculatus bleek onlangs in twee exemplaren in Zuid-Limburg verzameld. Naar aanleiding van recente vangsten van Buprestis...
