Despite improvements in care and rehabilitation of burned patients, infections still remain the main complication and death cause. Catheter-related infections are among the four most common infections and are associated with skin damage and insertion site colonization. There are few studies evaluating this kind of infection worldwide in this special group of patients. Padre Albino Hospital Burn Care Unit (PAHBCU) is the only reference center in the Northwestern São Paulo for treatment of burned patients. This paper presents the results of a retrospective study aiming at describing the epidemiological and clinical features of catheter-related infections at PAHBCU. Studies about risk factors for mortality in burn children are scarce. We conducted this study to evaluate the risk factors for mortality in pediatric burn patients. We included 110 patients. Mean age was 31.5 months (range: 1 to 204). The burn surface was between 1% and 95%(median 27%) Type of burn was: A or superfitial in 39 patients (36%), AB or intermediate in 19 (17%), and B or full thickness in 52 (47%). Inhalatory injury was present in 52 patients (47%). Invasive procedures were: venous catheter, 90 patients (82%), arterial catheter, 83patients (75.5%), urinary catheter, 86 patients (78%), and mechanical ventilation, 75 patients (68%). Este experimento foi realizado para comparar o conteúdo de tanino de quatro variedades de sorgo usando seis métodos quantitativos de determinação de tanino. Foi usado delineamento inteiramente ao acaso em arranjo fatorial 4 x 6 (variedade x método) com quatro repetições, em que T1 - Folin Denis (Refluxo com reagente de Folin Denis), T2 - Folin Denis (Refluxo com água), T3 - Folin Denis (refluxo com água, filtragem após o relfuxo), T4 - Lowental, T5 - Vanilina ácido clorídrico de Burns e T6 - Vanilina ácido clorídrico modificado de Burns.
