Megteremthető-e a globális élelmezésbiztonság? AgEcon
Kalman, Zoltan.

Infectious bursal disease virus: case report and experimental studies in vaccinated and unvaccinated SPF chickens and commercial broiler chicks Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.
Scanavini Neto,H; Ito,NMK; Miyaji,CI; Lima,E de A; Okabayashi,S; Corrêa,ARA; Eleutério,GC; Zuanaze,MA.
IBDV Gm 11 (Simbios eleven-molecular group) has been detected since 1997 in many farms of commercial broilers and layers causing high mortality (2 to 15%) and severe macro and microscopic damage in cloacal bursae, spleen, thymus, kidney and liver. Five serial passages of 2050/97-Gm 11 IBDV sample by CAM route in SPF chicken's embryonated eggs did not elicit increased embryo mortality. High mortality (100%) of 21 day-old SPF leghorn chickens and severe bursal and splenic lesions were seen from 24 up to 48 hours after eye-drop inoculation of 2050/97 strain (50 mL of 10-2 dilution of 10% bursae homogenate). Mortality was not detected when vaccinated SPF and broiler chickens were inoculated. One dead bird was found among ten challenged unvaccinated broilers....

Assessment of a natural, non-antibiotic blend on performance, blood biochemistry, intestinal microflora, and morphology of broilers challenged with Escherichia coli R. Bras. Zootec.
Manafi,Milad; Hedayati,Mahdi; Khalaji,Saeed; Kamely,Mohammad.
ABSTRACT The effect of a non-antibiotic growth-promoting component composed of natural phytomolecules, direct-fed microbials, glucomannan oligosaccharides, and organic acids on the performance, intestinal morphology and microbiology, plasma biochemistry, enzyme activities, visceral organ weights, and immune response of commercial broilers challenged with Escherichia coli was investigated. Three hundred and sixty one-day old male Ross 308 broiler chicks were randomly divided into basal diet (control, CON); control plus 0.5 mL of culture materials containing 108 cfu/mL of E. coli (E. coli); control with 400 mg/kg bacitracin methylene disalicylate (an antibiotic growth promoter, AGP); control plus 1000 g/t of feed of a blended mixture of natural feed...

Factor analysis of agricultural mechanization challenges in Iran CIGR Journal
Bagheri, Nikrooz -; Bordbar, Marziyeh.
A descriptive survey research was undertaken in order to assess challenges facing agricultural mechanization development in Iran.  The research population included agricultural mechanization experts, managers and specialists in private and governmental sections.  Using proportional stratified sampling, a sample of 119 was constituted out of a total population of 809 based on the Cochran formula.  Data were collected using questionnaire on which the statements were collected after literature review of research and interviews with mechanization specialists.  The questionnaire was validated by a panel of experts and its reliability index was established by a Cronbach’s coefficient.  A pilot study was conducted with 30 questionnaires (not included in the...

In the present work, immunogenicity of recombinant in vitro assembled hepatitis C virus core particles, HCcAg.120-VLPs, either alone or in combination with different adjuvants was evaluated in BALB/c mice. HCcAg.120-VLPs induced high titers of anti-HCcAg.120 antibodies and virus-specific cellular immune responses. Particularly, HCcAg.120-VLPs induced specific delayed type hypersensitivity, and generated a predominant T helper 1 cytokine pro file in immunized mice. In addition, HCcAg.120-VLPs prime splenocytes proliferate in vitro against different HCcAg.120-specific peptides, depending on either the immunization route or the adjuvant used. Remarkably, immunization with HCcAg.120-VLPs/Montanide ISA888 formulation resulted in a significant control of...
