| Se realizo un ensayo con el objetivo de evaluar la calidad y rendimiento de la carne de ovinos en 2 sistemas de producción suplementados con caña de azúcar fermentada, 13 ovinos para el primer sistema (Cunduacán, Tabasco) de peso inicial promedio de 11.5 kg, pasto + sacchapulido y 24 ovinos para el segundo sistema (Huimanguillo Tabasco) de peso inicial promedio de 20 kg, pasto + sacchapulido + vitafer los cuales fueron evaluados mediante la estadística descriptiva. Todos los animales permanecieron pastoreando en las mismas praderas y diariamente se movilizaban a corraletas individuales en donde se le ofrecía el suplemento y se cuantifico el consumo del suplemento. | The bivalve Corbicula fluminea Müller is recorded for the first time in Colombia, in the National Park Isla de Salamanca. This protected area includes freshwater channels and mixohaline lagoons influenced by waters of both the Magdalena River and the Caribbean Sea. This exotic bivalve occurs locally in freshwater channels close to the Magdalena River as well as in the latter, whereas another corbiculid native species, Polymesoda solida, is commonly found in the mixohaline lagoons. Densities of C. fluminea ranged from 10 to 100 ind/m2 along with low numbers of P. solida. Lengths ranged form 10 to 43 mm in a predominant muddy substrate. | The study reported here sought to investigate the effect that the dredging of the harbour basins and the entrance channel has had on sediment deposition rate into the Dar es Salaam harbour. Echo-sounding was carried out along berths No 2, 3, 4, 6, 7 and 8 as a means of detecting changes to their bathymetry in the four years since 1998, when the dredging commenced. Concentrations of transported sediments into and out of the harbour were determined using sediment traps. Short-term measurement of waves and currents were also carried out. | Cet article présente les résultats d'une étude comparative de trois séries de prélèvements dans la zone proche du canal de Bassam avant, 6 mois et 20 mois après son ouverture en septembre 1987. Les effets constatés sont la diminution de l'abondance et la modification de la composition de la macrofaune benthique. Ces effets semblent de longue durée, sans reprise en ce qui concerne l'espèce la plus abondante, Corbula trigona. Les changements observés dans la structure des peuplements sont dus essentiellement à l'augmentation de la salinité, et à un degré moindre, aux modifications de la nature du sédiment. |

| Based on indirect evidence, a role for synaptically released copper and zinc as modulators of neuronal activity has been proposed. To test this proposal directly, we studied the effect of copper, zinc, and other divalent cations on voltage-dependent currents in dissociated toad olfactory neurons and on their firing rate induced by small depolarizing currents. Divalent cations in the nanomolar range sped up the activation kinetics and increased the amplitude of the inward sodium current.
