Zur taxonomischen und phylogenetischen Bedeutung der Feinstruktur der Eischale der Parnassiinae (Lepidoptera: Papilionidae) Naturalis
Häuser, Chr.L.; Naumann, C.M.; Kreuzberg, A.V.-A..
The chorion surface structure of the eggs of 31 species of the subfamily Parnassiinae was studied by SEM on a comparative basis. The eggs are briefly described and taxonomic characters are illustrated. The eggs of all examined species of the genus Parnassius possess a very thick, externally highly sculptured chorion, whereas in all other genera of the Parnassiinae the eggs are externally smooth, as in most Papilioninae. The thickened, externally sculptured chorion is regarded as an autapomorphy of the genus Parnassius, which probably is linked to the hibernation of the fully developed first instar larvae within the egg shell. Die Feinstruktur der Chorionoberfläche der Eier von 31 Arten der Unterfamilie Parnassiinae wurde vergleichend...

Evaluation of egg morphology from ethanol preserved females of Anastrepha sp.2 aff. fraterculus (Diptera: Tephritidae) Neotropical Entomology
Selivon,Denise; Vretos,Christina; Perondini,André L.P..
Features of eggshell morphology in Anastrepha sp.2 aff. fraterculus were evaluated in mature ovariole ova dissected from females preserved in ethanol, and from ovaries of fresh killed females in comparison to that of freshly laid eggs. The characteristics of sculpturing as well as of internal structure of the chorion in oviposited eggs could be observed in both samples of mature ovariole ova. Ethanol preserved females may be used as a source of eggs for morphological studies allowing this kind of analysis to species whose eggs are not readily obtained.

Ultrastructure of ovarian follicular epithelium of the Amazonian fish Pseudotylosurus microps (Teleostei: Belonidae): morphological and histochemical characterization of the intercellular deposits BJB
CRUZ-LANDIM,C.; CRUZ-HÖFLING,M. A..
The present paper reports the presence of great quantities of electrondense intercellular material in the follicular epithelium of P. microps. The material apparently is uptaken from circulation and enter the follicle through the intercellular spaces accumulating in the epithelial median-apical intercellular spaces and in perioocytic space. The accumulation starts in the early growth of the primary oocyte and proceed until vitellogenesis. The possible chemical nature and function of the deposits are discussed.
