Muestreo bioestadístico de pescado en el puerto de Mar del Plata. Anchoíta (Engraulis anchoita). Período 1986-1990 OceanDocs
Hansen, J.E..
This paper deals with the commercial landings of bonaerensis anchovy at the Port of Mar del Plata (Buenos Aires province,Argentina), during the years 1986 to 1990. The mean catch was 15,501t per year. A total of 59 fish samples were taken for total length distributions (N=20164), and 24 sub-samples (N=2370) were analyzed to record individual data (length, weight, sex, sexual stage, age fromotoliths reading). The numer of fish per kg ranged between 28 and 53(mean=34.6). The mean size was 156.63 mm, and the most abundant fish in the landings were those being 3 and 2 years old, as it was also recorded during the period 1980-1985. Ordinary length-weight relationships by season were fitted, and the results were as follows:1) Autumn-Winter: W=8.5* 10-7* L3.392;...

AN ANALYSIS OF THE RETIREMENT-CONSUMPTION PUZZLE FOR FOOD-AT-HOME AND AWAY-FROM-HOME EXPENDITURES IN GERMANY AgEcon
Drescher, Larissa S.; Roosen, Jutta.
According to Ando and Modigliani (1957), consumers pass different stages of a lifecycle with different impact on demand. The criticism that the life-cycle theory neglects generational effects and concentrates on ageing effects only has led to the application of the cohort analysis which decomposes not only age, but also period and cohort effects. Following these ideas, this paper presents results of a cohort analysis on food-at-home and away-from-home consumption covering 25 years of German consumption data. Special attention is given to the retirement-consumption puzzle which is the unanticipated drop in consumption after retirement. Results of seemingly unrelated regressions indicate that there are significant age, period and cohort effects of...

Self Control and Food Consumption at Home and in the Wild - Empirical Evidence of the Age Cohorts in Taiwan AgEcon
Chang, Hung-Hao; Just, David R.; Chang, Ta-Chuan.
As the increasing prevalence of obesity in the world, how to prevent increasing body weight has became important policy issue. This paper addresses this issue using the behavioral economic models to empirically test food consumption behaviors and self-control problem. In contrast to replying on experimental evidence of the behavioral economic studies, age cohort data are constructed for households in Taiwan and food away from home and several categories of food consumption at home are recognized. Results show that self-control problem are evident for food away from home, and the effects are more pronounced for younger age cohorts. In contrast, staple and secondary food consumption at home are more stable across life-time periods and no self-control problem...
