Three-Dimensional Reconstruction of Columna Vertebralis Images of Elite Male Weightlifters Taken by a Multi-Detector Computerized Tomography (MDCT) International Journal of Morphology

This study aims to carry out a comparative study on the vertebral structure of the elite male weightlifters and the sedentary group (control group) by obtaining three-dimensional data and models by means of photogrammetry from the columna vertebralis sections taken by MDCT. The columna vertebralis of the 8 male weightlifters and 8 sedentary individuals (control group) was scanned with a high-definition diagnostic MDCT device during the study. The demographic findings suggest no difference in both the weightlifters and the sedentary individual. Characterization of Tympanic Cavity Volume in Newborns using Computerized Tomography Scanning International Journal of Morphology

This study reports tympanic cavity (TC) volume in newborns, which was missing in the literature. Ex vivo histology and computerized tomography (CT) scans were performed on temporal bone and data were analyzed in part using software developed in house. CT images with a slice thickness of 0.5 mm were obtained from 5 newborn cadavers and analyzed independently by two expert researchers. The border of the TC was delineated manually and measurement of area of interest was calculated on masked images. Then, the area measurements from all sections were added to estimate the total volume. Vertebral arteries ascend lateral to the cervical spine. Although non-contrasting tomographic studies have attempted to determine the anatomical relationship between these arteries and the spine, the presence and position of the former have yet to be clearly demonstrated. This study was thus aimed to determine the position of the vertebral arteries in relation to the midline, anterior and posterior planes of the vertebral body of each cervical vertebrae. A densidade do solo (ds) tem sido usada como um parâmetro importante de caracterização física da estrutura do solo e como um indicador de sua compactação. Este trabalho teve como objetivo comparar os valores de ds obtidos através de métodos convencionais, como torrão parafinado (MTP) e anel volumétrico (MAV), e nucleares, como tomografia computadorizada (MTC), atenuação gama (MAG) e sonda de superfície nêutron-gama (MSN). Foram feitas coletas de amostras em áreas submetidas às práticas de manejo de plantio convencional e plantio direto. Para as análises pelos MAV, MTP, MTC e MAG foram coletadas 16 amostras na camada superficial do solo e para o MSN foram realizadas leituras em 16 pontos distintos ao longo da área experimental.
