The situation is stationary compared to earlier years. We observed higher iron concentrations in the Moulinets point (August and November) than those previously recorded. The situation is stable compared to the previous years. We observed concentrations of mercury higher than the national medians, although not crossing above the administrative threshold for mercury. First results obtained on mussels introduced in the Goury harbour on 12 June 2002 and collected on 20 March 2003 enabling a first approach of living material non-active contamination level next to the Cogema plant in La Hague. As a conclusion, COGEMA's industrial activity could have an effect on living materials, with a slight rise in the cadmium, mercury and zinc concentrations observed in mussel flesh, but without exceeding sanitary norms. The MET&OR module is a model, written in FORTRAN 90, which calculates the biogeochemical reactions between variables such as trace metal, radioactive tracers, organic or bacterial contaminants (biodegradation, decay, adsorption / desorption, photolysis, hydrolysis, volatilization, partition at equilibrium ..). It groups together classical reactions, described in the literature, to evaluate the source and sink terms which are integrated into the transport equations solved by a hydrodynamic model. It is intended more particularly for marine and coastal waters. This technical documentation aims to present the MET&OR module and the way in which it was coupled to the hydrodynamic model, in particular to MARS-3D. The values of the metal and organic contaminants observed through this study are within the range of the values recorded by the RNO network between 2000 and 2002. Only the chromium and CB153 concentrations recorded in the Goury point are slightly above those observed throughout 2004.
