Tabular cusum control charts of chemical variables applied to the control of surface water quality REA

The aim of this study was to evaluate the application possibility of tabular CUSUM control charts in the quality control of chemical variables in surface water. It was performed bibliographic and field research to collect water samples from 2003 to 2009, totaling 30 samples, some monthly and others semi-annual in order to observe the variables that regulate water quality. It was found that these charts may be applied to control the quality of river water; showing to be effective in the perception of changes during the process, especially for small samples (n=1) which there is no repetition as in this research. It was also concluded that the Mandurim River does not presents significant levels of pollution.

ABSTRACT Soybean has significant economic importance in Brazil despite high production costs, making it necessary to increase the efficiency of mechanized harvest through the reduction of losses. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate the total losses in the mechanized soybean harvest as a function of the combination of header types, operating speeds, and geometry of collection frames. The study was carried out in a commercial farm in a randomized block design arranged in a 2 × 3 × 3 factorial with 10 replications, totaling 180 replications. ABSTRACT: The quality of the sugarcane plantation affects the plantation longevity, yield and production costs. Therefore, this study aimed to evaluate the quality of sugarcane mechanized planting in day and night shifts. The mechanized planting was carried out in Ivinhema, MS, Brazil. For the evaluation of pre-planting seedlings, were collected 40 billets in the seedling area with 10 repetitions for each shift. In this sense, this study aimed to evaluate the damage and disturbance to the sugarcane ratoons by the base cutting quality of two-blade models through statistical process control. Efficiency of Electrical Stunning by Electronarcosis: Current Situation and Perspective of Improvement in a Medium-Size Processing Plant Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Avic.

ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the efficiency of electrical stunning by electronarcosis in a medium-size poultry processing plant located in southern Brazil. The current measurement of this type of stunning is presented, and then improvements to this method are proposed. Data were collected for 90 days. A quality indicator was proposed: the Stunning Severity Index (SSI), which includes elements of Statistical Process Control (SPC) using a p-chart (proportion chart) and measures. This index comprises the variables "wing-flapping," "arched head," and "rhythmic breathing." Using the proposed index, 5% of the birds, on average, presented inefficient stunning symptoms.
