Soil management systems and their effect on the weed seed bank PAB
Forte,Cesar Tiago; Galon,Leandro; Beutler,Amauri Nelson; Basso,Felipe José Menin; Nonemacher,Felipe; Reichert Júnior,Francisco Wilson; Perin,Gismael Francisco; Tironi,Siumar Pedro.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the density and composition of the soil weed seed bank when bean, corn, and soybean are cultivated in the no-tillage system (NTS) in rotation with winter cover crop species and in the conventional tillage system (CTS). The experiment was installed in a complete randomized block design with three replicates. The evaluation of the seed bank was performed on soil samples (0-10 and 10-20 cm) in four points of each experimental unit, at 15, 30, 60, and 90 days of cultivation. Bean, corn, and soybean crops were sown in the NTS with different soil cover crops in rotation, as well as in the CTS. The NTS provided a more dense and abundant soil seed bank of the species Gnaphalium spicatum and Oxalis corniculata...

Management Systems Effect on Fertility Indicators of a Ferralsol with Vegetable Crops, as Determined by Different Statistical Tools Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Lima,Carlos Eduardo Pacheco; Silva,Juscimar da; Guedes,Ítalo Moraes Rocha; Madeira,Nuno Rodrigo; Fontenelle,Mariana Rodrigues.
ABSTRACT The intensive nature of soil use in vegetable production areas has led to a marked decrease in soil quality. The objective of this study was to evaluate the effects of adoption of soil management systems on vegetable production with regards to the chemical properties of a Rhodic Ferralsol after five years and to evaluate the use of the Principal Component Analysis (PCA) statistical tool in discriminating the different treatments. The experiment was conducted under field conditions in central Brazil in a randomized block design with four replications and a 3 × 2 factorial arrangement (three soil management systems × two cover crops). The soil management systems used were NT (no-tillage), RT (reduced tillage), and CT (conventional tillage). The...
