Organic cultivation of okra with ground cover of perennial herbaceous legumes Horticultura Brasileira
Silva,Diego Mathias N da; Oliveira,Fábio Luiz; Grazziotti,Paulo Henrique; Fávero,Claudenir; Quaresma,Mateus Augusto L.
The management of green manure with perennial herbaceous legumes has emerged as an interesting practice for vegetable production, improving the cultivation environment and increasing crop yields. In the present study we evaluated the organic okra cultivation in soil covered with perennial herbaceous legumes. The treatments consisted of okra grown in bare soil (control) or covered with tropical kudzo (Pueraria phaseoloides), perennial soybean (Glycine wightii), calopogonium (Calopogonium muconoides), Pinto peanut (Arachis pintoi) and Stylosanthes capitata and Stylosanthes macrocephala. A randomized block design with four replications was used. The weeding of legumes was realized before the okra was sown and this allowed the addition of quantities of dry...

Nitrogen use of a mixed tree crop plantation with a leguminous cover crop. Infoteca-e
LEHMANN, J.; SILVA JUNIOR, J. P. da; GEBAUER, G.; SILVA, L. F. da.
Study on two associated frut tree crops take up their N in comparison to a leguminous cover crop in an agroforestry system. Preliminar results showed the pueraria had the highest foliar N content followed by pupunha; cupuacu having less than the other two. One year after application, cupuacu took up more of the applied N in comparison to the total N uptake than pueraria and pupunha as seen from the high &15N values. The amount of 15N taken up in relation to dry matter equaled between the three species, since pueraria had a lot higher N contents. The other sampling dates showed the same tendency.

Brachiaria ruziziensis and herbicide on the yield of upland rice Planta Daninha
Nascente,A.S.; Guimarães,C.M.; Cobucci,T.; Crusciol,C.A.C..
The correct management of cover crops in no-tillage aims to obtain greater benefits with its introduction in agricultural systems. The use of forage species such as Brachiaria, due to the large amount of biomass and for persisting longer on the ground, has become a good option. In this sense, an important point is the time interval between the cover desiccation with glyphosate and planting of rice in order to obtain higher operating income in the sowing, greater availability of nutrients, greater presence of straw on the soil surface, and lower release of possible allelopathic substances. The objective of this study was to assess the effect of the management of B. ruziziensis, with or without herbicide, preceding the crop planting, in the yield components...
