Circumpolar dataset of sequenced specimens of Promachocrinus kerguelensis (Echinodermata, Crinoidea) ArchiMer
Hemery, Lenaig G.; Ameziane, Nadia; Eleaume, Marc.
This circumpolar dataset of the comatulid (Echinodermata: Crinoidea) Promachocrinus kerguelensis (Carpenter, 1888) from the Southern Ocean, documents biodiversity associated with the specimens sequenced in Hemery et al. (2012). The aim of Hemery et al. (2012) paper was to use phylogeographic and phylogenetic tools to assess the genetic diversity, demographic history and evolutionary relationships of this very common and abundant comatulid, in the context of the glacial history of the Antarctic and Sub-Antarctic shelves (Thatje et al. 2005, 2008). Over one thousand three hundred specimens (1307) used in this study were collected during seventeen cruises from 1996 to 2010, in eight regions of the Southern Ocean: Kerguelen Plateau, Davis Sea, Dumont d'Urville...

Late Cretaceous-Early Palaeogene echinoderms and the K/Tboundary in the southeast Netherlands and northeast Belgium - Part 2: Crinoids Naturalis
Jagt, J.W.M..
All Campanian, Maastrichtian and Danian articulate (cladid) crinoids known to date from the extendedtype area of the Maastrichtian Stage, are described and illustrated. The geographic and stratigraphicdistribution of this unexpectedly diverse echinoderm group are documented. A total of twentygenera (three of them new) and thirty-six species (six of them new) are defined: Austinocrinus bicoronatus(von Hagenow, 1840), ‘Isocrinus’ sp., ‘I.’ lanceolatus (Roemer, 1840)?, Isselicrinus buchii (Roemer,1840), Praeisselicrinus? limburgicus (Rasmussen, 1961), Nielsenicrinus agassizii (von Hagenow, 1840) (=‘Pentacrinites’ kloedeni von Hagenow, 1840), N. ewaldi sp. nov., Jaekelometra gr. belgica (Jaekel, 1902), J.gr. concava (Schlüter, 1878) (= J. columnaris Gislén,...

Late Cretaceous bourgueticrinid crinoids from southern Poland – preliminary observations Naturalis
Jagt, J.W.M.; Salamon, M.A..
Dissociated skeletal elements of bourgueticrinid crinoids, comprising mostly columnals, radicular cirri, a few cups and some brachials, are recorded from Turonian-Maastrichtian strata of southern Poland (Miechów Trough, Kraków-Cze˛stochowa Upland, Holy Cross Mountains and Opole Trough). Published records of bourgueticrinids from Poland are surprisingly few; only specifically indeterminate columnals, radicular cirri and a sole proximale, plus a single cup of Bourgueticrinus utriculatus have been noted. The present material, although limited, clearly demonstrates that these crinoids must have been less rare than anticipated and are, in fact, distributed throughout the entire Upper Cretaceous sequence in this area. The majority of bourgueticrinids had an...

Towards a systematic standard approach to describing fossil crinoids, illustrated by the redescription of a Scottish Silurian Pisocrinus de Koninck Naturalis
Fearnhead, F.E..
Systematic taxonomy requires thoughtful, detailed and structured descriptions of species characters, and essential additional data for effective comparison with other specimens. Crinoid terminology is commonly misused or at best confused. The purpose of this paper is to facilitate this process by encouraging a standard methodology which would make comparisons of fossil crinoid taxa easier for all. An ordered tabulation of those characters that should be considered in any description of a fossil crinoid is provided and implemented in describing a Scottish Llandovery (Lower Silurian) disparid crinoid Pisocrinus cf. campana S.A. Miller.

Annotated and illustrated list of echinoderms collected during the Colombian scientific expeditions to the Antarctica (2016-2019) Boletín de Investigaciones
Borrero-Pérez,Giomar H.; Yepes-Gaurisas,Daniela.
ABSTRACT In order to contribute to the base line of knowledge that is being built of the Gerlache Strait and the adjacent areas, the echinoderms collected during the Scientific Expeditions from Colombia to Antarctica carried out between 2016 and 2019 as part of the project “Biodiversity and oceanographic conditions of the Gerlache Strait, Biogerlache-Antártica” are presented. Eleven stations between 54 and 523 m deep were sampled, using sediment dredgers that captured incidentally some individuals from the mega and macro-epifauna, which were separated, reviewed and identified. Twentynine (29) individuals were obtained in five of the sampled stations, belonging to 13 morphotypes. Ophiuroidea was the richest class (five morphotypes), followed by...
