Comparative between different parameters under automate drip irrigation for cucumber CIGR Journal
Khattab, Yosria Kamal.
Abstract: Automate drip irrigation in greenhouse was conducted at Elhssen Agriculture Authriuts, Giza governorate, Egypt. The aim of this researcher is to use the new Laser Leaf Control Unit (LLCU) as a tool to operate the automate drip irrigation system in greenhouse. Comparative study between Laser Beam Transmit (LBT) build in the (LLCU), different temperature (dt) and Soil Moisture Content (SMC) were carried for irrigated cucumber. Three instruments used; 1) Laser Leaf Control Unit (LLCU); 2) Infrared Thermometer (IR) used to measure canopy temperature around plant leaf (Tc) and air temperature (Ta) to estimate dtc °C; 3) Soil Moisture Meter (SMM) to measure Soil Moisture Content (SMC). The result exhibited that there is a relationship between the LBT,...

Response of Cucumis sativus L. seedlings to Pb exposure Braz. J. Plant Physiol.
Gonçalves,Jamile F.; Becker,Alexssandro G.; Pereira,Luciane B.; Rocha,João B. T. da; Cargnelutti,Denise; Tabaldi,Luciane A.; Battisti,Vanessa; Farias,Júlia G.; Fiorenza,Amanda M.; Flores,Érico M. M.; Nicoloso,Fernando T.; Schetinger,Maria R. C..
In this study, the effects of lead (Pb) on growth, photosynthetic pigments concentration, lipid peroxidation, electrolyte leakage percentage (ELP), protein oxidation, aminolevulinate dehydratase (ALA-D; E.C. 4.2.1.24), ascorbate peroxidase (APX; E.C. 1.11.1.11), catalase (CAT; E.C. 1.11.1.6) and superoxide dismutase (SOD; E.C. 1.15.1.1) activities, and ascorbic acid (AsA), non-protein thiol groups (NPSH) and total soluble protein concentrations in cucumber seedlings (Cucumis sativus L.) were investigated. Seedlings were grown in vitro in an agar-solidified substrate containing three Pb levels as (C2H3O2)Pb.3H2O (0, 100, 400, and 1000 µmol L-1) for 10 d. Increasing Pb concentrations in substrate enhanced Pb concentration in both roots and shoot. Pb...

Toxic metabolites from culture filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum and its effects on cucumber cells and plantlets Rev. Microbiol.
Melo,Itamar Soares de; Piccinin,Everaldo.
Resistance of cucumber plantlets to culture filtrate of Fusarium oxysporum is correlated with resistance of single cells from callus. Single cells and plantlets of two cultivars of cucumber were incubated with culture filtrates. Rapid cell death occurred, as assessed by the stain fluorescein diacetate. More cell death ocurred in the cells of the cultivar Aodai than in to cells of the cultivar Caipira, which presented high level of resistance. Maximum toxic activity of culture filtrates was attained after 21-25 days of growth of the fungus.

CGMMV Thai Agricultural
Premruethai Unruean; Kamol Lertrat; Petcharat Thummabenjapone.
Cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV) is a member of Tobamovirus, it causes green mottle mosaic disease in cucurbits with the virus being transmitted through seed. The aims of this research were emphasized on evaluation the stability of CGMMV resistant phenotype in self fertilization generation S2 and S3 of new cucumber lines (10 lines) generated from commercial cucumber varieties and tentatively inbred lines(11 lines) from previously screening program. The results showed that the good candidate cucumber lines from commercial source which resistant (R) to moderate resistant (MR) to CGMMV were No.P10 line 6-1, No.P19 line 2-1 and No.P19 line 5-1. The self generation lines derived from No.P3 x P4 showed stability in R-MR phenotype. For tentatively...
