Range extension of Boeckella bergi Richard, 1897 (Crustacea: Copepoda: Centropagidae), with comments on the taxonomy of the species Biota Neotropica
Previattelli,Daniel; Perbiche-Neves,Gilmar; Menu Marque,Silvina; Rocha,Carlos Eduardo Falavigna da.
We present new records of Boeckella bergi at several water bodies in Argentina and Brazil. Within these records the northernmost and southernmost limits of occurrence of B. bergi in South America are included. The ample range of distribution is consistent with former studies, but it is more extensive than previously known. Observations on habitat preferences are also made. This species is tolerant to temperate climate conditions in this region of South America, with wide amplitude of temperature between summer and winter seasons, and irregular patterns of precipitation.

Crane flies (Diptera, Tipuloidea) from southern Neotropical salt marshes: survey with DNA barcoding Iheringia, Sér. Zool.
Rodrigues,Lucas; Ortega,Ileana; Vieira,Rony; Carrasco,Daiane; Proietti,Maíra.
ABSTRACT Crane flies are the most diverse group within Diptera, but they are rarely studied in coastal ecosystems. Considering the scarcity of information on the biology and ecology of this group in the Neotropics, and the sparse literature available for taxonomic identification, we developed a descriptive checklist that incorporates morphology and DNA barcoding. We also created a generic identification key for crane flies of southern Brazilian salt marshes. We sampled crane flies continuously at three areas along the Patos Lagoon salt marshes over one year. A total of 14 genera/subgenera, 6 species, and 12 morphotypes belonging to Limoniidae and Tipulidae were identified. Distribution ranges of Symplecta cana (Walker, 1848) and two Ormosia Rondani, 1856...

Reef-dwelling Holothuroidea (Echinodermata) of the Spermonde Archipelago (South-West Sulawesi, Indonesia) Naturalis
Massin, C..
During a survey at the Spermonde Archipelago (22.viii-5.x.1994) 56 holothurian species were collected; ten are new to the fauna of Indonesia and one is new to science: Stichopus quadrifasciatus spec. nov. Most of the species are described, figured and discussed. As far as possible, all literature records from 1970 onwards are listed and a distribution map is given for each species.
