ecosystemwith flowering plants around the paddy field for build up the habitat and food sources of helpful insectsbefore growing rice were conducted in Ang Thong, Nakhon Nayok and Chiang Rai province.The experiment plots were done during May to October 2011. Sampling arthopod by D-vac sucking machine in seedling, tillering, booting and heading stages. Results showed that the most of arthropod are natural enemies species more than pest species. Shannon-Wiener diversity index in the ecological engineering plots had increased where as the control plots had decreased. It found that, planting the flowering plants around the bund could be increased the arthropod in the paddy field. Especially planting the flowers could increased the number of predators and...

Abstract The diversity of rhizobial isolates in tropical dry forests (TDF) has been studied due to the great importance of finding new species of bacteria capable of fixing nitrogen in tree legumes. In the Brazilian TDF (caatinga), Leguminosae is the most important family of plants, so the knowledge of microbial communities that make symbioses with native plants can help in the understanding of the interaction plant-microorganisms, as well as in the optimization of biological processes that can improve the cultivation system in an area so rich and understudied. In this study was determined the characteristics of rhizobia isolated from nodules of Mimosa tenuiflora (Willd.) Poir., Piptadenia stipulacea (Benth.) Ducke and Mimosa caesalpiniifolia Benth, grown...

Floristic evolution in an agroforestry system cultivation in Southern Brazil Anais da ABC (AABC)
SILVA,LUÍS C.R.; MACHADO,SEBASTIÃO A.; GALVÃO,FRANKLIN; FIGUEIREDO FILHO,AFONSO.
ABSTRACT Bracatinga (Mimosa scabrella Bentham) is an important pioneer tree species in Ombrophylous Mixed Forest of Brazil and is widely used as an energy source. In traditional agroforestry systems, regeneration is induced by fire, then pure and dense stands known as bracatinga stands (bracatingais) are formed. In the first year, annual crops are intercalated with the seedlings. At that time the seedlings are thinned, then the stands remain at a fallow period and cut at seven years old. The species is very important mainly for small landowners. We studied the understory species that occur naturally during the succession over several years in order to manage them rationally in the future and maintain the natural vegetation over time. Three to 20 year-old...
