EVALUATION OF DROPLET SPECTRA OF THE SPRAY TIP AD 11002 USING DIFFERENT TECHNIQUES REA
Cunha,João P. A. R. da; Reis,Elton F. dos; Assunção,Heli H. T. de; Landim,Thiago N..
ABSTRACT Knowledge of droplet spectra generated by spray nozzle tips is important to ensure the quality of applications of plant protection products. However, there are different methods for this evaluation, which can cause difficulty in interpreting the results. This study aimed to evaluate the droplet spectra produced by the flat fan spray tip AD 11002 operated under different pressures and using different techniques and equipment. The volume median diameter (VMD), percentage of spray volume in droplets smaller than 100 µm diameter and relative spam (RS), considering pressures of 200, 300, and 400 kPa were determined using two direct measurement equipment (Spraytec and Shadow Sizer), based on laser diffraction and image analysis, respectively, and a...

SPECTRUM AND VELOCITY OF DROPLETS OF SPRAY NOZZLES WITH AND WITHOUT AIR INDUCTION REA
França,Jorge A. L.; Cunha,João P. A. R. da; Antuniassi,Ulisses R..
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate the spectrum and the velocity of droplets produced by nozzles with and without air induction, under different pressures and flow rates. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with five replications, in a factorial 2 x 3 x 3 (two spray nozzles, three flow rates and three operating pressures). The spray nozzles with and without air induction of the Hypro manufacturer (GA and VP) were evaluated, with nominal flow rates of 0.76; 1.14 and 1.51 L min-1 and pressures of 200, 300 and 400 kPa. The spectrum and velocity of the droplets were determined directly, using a Visisize Portable P15 (Oxford Lasers, Imaging Division). The pressure increases further reduction of the VMD and the relative...

Método alternativo para estimar deposição de agrotóxico com uso de papel sensível a água. Infoteca-e

Spray drift and droplet spectrum from dicamba sprayed alone or mixed with adjuvants using air-induction nozzles PAB
Alves,Guilherme Sousa; Kruger,Greg Robert; Cunha,João Paulo Arantes Rodrigues da.
Abstract: The objective of this work was to evaluate the spray drift and droplet spectrum of dicamba applied alone or with potential drift-reducing adjuvants, using air-induction flat fan nozzles. Standard (XR and TT) and air-induction (AIXR and TTI) nozzles were evaluated in a wind tunnel. The adjuvants used were polymer, ammonium sulfate, vegetable oil, and phosphatidylcholine. The applications were conducted at 276 kPa pressure and 3.5 m s-1 wind speed. The droplet spectrum was measured using a laser diffraction system. Round strings were used as drift collectors, positioned perpendicularly to the wind direction, at 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 12 m from the nozzle. Drift was calculated by quantifying, through fluorimetry, a fluorescent tracer added to each...

Spray nozzles, working pressures and use of adjuvant in reduction of 2,4-D herbicide spray drift Planta Daninha
Godinho Jr.,João D.; C. Vieira,Lucas; A.A. Ruas,Renato; Carvalho Filho,Alberto; R. Faria,Vinícius; I.V.G. God,Pedro.
Abstract Background: The study of the interactions between equipment, application methods, and spray mixtures is fundamental to optimize the application of pesticides. The determination of the best combination of these factors can reduce the drift during the application of the herbicide 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-D). Objective: The objective this paper is to study the influence of nozzle models, working pressures, and surfactant adjuvant in reducing the drift of 2,4-D. Methods: The spectrum of nozzle drops was determined for a conventional flat jet; flat jet with air induction; double plane jet with air induction; deflector flat jet with air induction; and an empty cone with air induction at pressures of 200, 300, 400, and 500 kPa. This was...

Computer programs for analysis of droplets sprayed on water sensitive papers Planta Daninha
Cunha,J.P.A.R.; Farnese,A.C.; Olivet,J.J..
The use of water-sensitive papers is an important tool for assessing the quality of pesticide application on crops, but manual analysis is laborious and time-consuming. Thus, this study aimed to evaluate and compare the results obtained from four software programs for spray droplet analysis in different scanned images of water-sensitive papers. After spraying, papers with four droplet deposition patterns (varying droplet spectra and densities) were analyzed manually and by means of the following computer programs: CIR, e-Sprinkle, DepositScan and Conta-Gotas. The diameter of the volume and number medians and the number of droplets per target area were studied. There is a strong correlation between the values measured using the different programs and the...

Drift curves from spray applications on commom bean crop Ciência e Agrotecnologia
Bueno,Mariana Rodrigues; Cunha,João Paulo Arantes Rodrigues da; Santana,Denise Garcia de.
ABSTRACT In order to avoid the occurrence of drift in pesticide applications, it is fundamental to know the behavior of sprayed droplets. This study aimed to determine drift curves in pesticide applications on common bean crop under brazilian weather conditions, using different nozzle types and compared them with the "German" and "Dutch" drift prediction models. The experiment was conducted in Uberlândia, Minas Gerais/Brazil, in completely randomized design with ten replications and 4 x 20 split-plot arrangement in space. Drift deposited on collectors located over ground level was resulted by 150 L ha-1 carrier volume applications through four nozzle types (XR 11002 (fine droplets); AIXR 11002 (coarse droplets); TT 11002 (medium droplets); TTI 11002...
