Ce congrès était organisé conjointement par les deux grandes associations de développement de l'aquaculture dans le monde: la World Aquaculture Society (WAS, 2300 membres) et la European Aquaculture Society (EAS, 550 membres). Le précédent s'était tenu à Nice, en mai 2000. Il a rassemblé pendant 5 jours plus de 3000 chercheurs et responsables institutionnels de 95 nationalités. Environ 600 communications orales étaient réparties sur 67 sessions suivant un système de 11 salles en parallèle. Entre les salles de conférence étaient présentés les panneaux des 460 posters. Caractérisation des sédiments des fonds de bassin des différentes fermes aquacoles de Nouvelle- Calédonie : Compilation des fiches techniques publiées de 1998 à 2000 ArchiMer

En 1996, le vieillissement des fonds de bassins aquacoles de crevettes était présenté comme hypothèse explicative de la dégradation des rendements de production sur certains sites d’élevage. Un travail conséquent avait été réalisé à l’époque dont l'objectif était, à partir d'un inventaire des différents sédiments des fermes aquacoles du Territoire, de mettre en évidence une éventuelle évolution de ce sédiment au fil des cycles d'élevage et son influence sur la productivité. L’objet de ce document est de numériser et de compiler les différentes fiches techniques diffusées à l’époque sous forme papier aux aquaculteurs de la filière crevette de Nouvelle-Calédonie.

Durabilité des géotextiles aramides en milieu alcalin ArchiMer

Because of their high initial properties, aramid geotextiles have been used for a decade for ground reinforcement. Today, the geotextiles manufacturers think about their use in alkaline grounds. However there are few data on the long-term behaviour of aramid fibres under these conditions. Consequently, a durability study in a basic environment has been carried out in order to improve understanding of the degradation mechanisms involved in ageing. On that purpose, the physico-chemical characteristics as well as the surface state and the mechanical properties of the Twaron 1000 fibres have been followed at different ageing times.

Vingt ans d’aquaculture en Afrique du Nord : évolutions, bilan critique et avenir ArchiMer

This paper presents the evolution of aquaculture in North Africa during the 20 last years, and the assets and bottlenecks for each country. This work uses the results of the European project Aquamed (2011-2013). The analysis of the evolutions of this sector, including research and development allows to establish a diagnosis on the strengths and the weaknesses in the four countries (Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia and Egypt). The retrospective analysis helps in identifying solutions for a more sustainable development. It also contributes to select priorities for action in a long-term vision (2035). The Atlantic Bluefin Tuna: A global perspective ArchiMer

This communication presents a global overview of Atlantic bluefin tuna biology, exploitation and management. The comparison between bluefin tuna and all other tuna species do show that this species is ranking number one among other tunas world wide in a wide range of its resources and fisheries characteristics. Glass-fiber reinforced polyester composites with gelcoat are widely used in nautical construction despite the lack of knowledge concerning their durability when immersed in water. This study deals especially with the influence of the osmotic process of degradation on the evolution of the mechanical properties of orthotropic materials, subjected to accelerated ageing tests. This evolution is experimentally evaluated by performing a non destructive test procedure, the vibrational modal analysis, whose results are additionally confirmed by quasi-static mechanical tests (bending and shear).
