Screening of Brazilian soybean genotypes with high potential for somatic embryogenesis and plant regeneration PAB
Droste,Annette; Silva,Anelise Machado da; Souza,Iliane Freitas de; Wiebke-Strohm,Beatriz; Bücker-Neto,Lauro; Bencke,Marta; Sauner,Márcia Viviane; Bodanese-Zanettini,Maria Helena.
The aim of this work was to identify Brazilian soybean (Glycine max) genotypes with potential to respond to in vitro culture stimuli for primary somatic embryo induction, secondary embryo proliferation and plant regeneration. Differences among eight tested cultivars were observed at each stage. Two cultivars, IAS-5 and BRSMG 68 Vencedora, were selected for the evaluation of the capacity for embryo differentiation and plant regeneration. These cultivars had high embryo induction frequencies, repetitive embryogenic proliferation, and low precocious embryo germination in the initial experiment. The effect of abscisic acid (ABA) and charcoal addition on plant regeneration was investigated. The addition of ABA to proliferation medium and of ABA and activated...

Induction and characterization of oil palm (Elaeis guineensis Jacq.) pro-embryogenic masses Anais da ABC (AABC)
PáDUA,MARLÚCIA S.; PAIVA,LUCIANO V.; LABORY,CLAÚDIA R.G.; ALVES,EDUARDO; STEIN,VANESSA C..
ABSTRACTOil palm is one of the most economically valuable oil seed plants, but the expansion of plantations has been limited by availability of seedlings, as the conventional propagation is through seeds, which have low germination rates. One possible solution for the large-scale production is the use of somatic embryogenesis. The aim of this study was evaluate the effects auxins 2,4-D and picloram on the induction of pro-embryogenic masses inE.guineenesis hybrid leaf explants and characterize, regarding embryogenic characteristics, with cytochemical and ultrastructural analisys. Specifically, in vitro plantlets leaves fragments were inoculated in Y3 culture medium supplemented by 2.4-D or picloram at different concentrations (0.0, 1.0, 3.0, 6.0 and 9.0 mg...
