STATISTICAL PROCESS CONTROL IN THE ASSESSMENT OF DRIP IRRIGATION USING WASTEWATER REA
Acuña Chinchilla,Sisgo R.; Silva,Ênio F. de F. e; Almeida,Ceres D. G. C. de; Silva,Alexsandro O. da; Santos,Patrício R. dos.
ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to evaluate drip irrigation as a process, by monitoring the average flow applied by the emitter using tools of statistical quality control. Four kinds of drippers were selected, two inline labyrinth type and two online where one of the inline emitters was not self-compensating and the other, self-compensating emitter. The system was installed in the field and tested for 85 hours, using three kinds of treated domestic sewage effluents and tap water. The system was under statistical control when the emitters were new, however none of the drippers reaches the manufacturer's specification for average flow. The online drippers showed more dispersion for individual flow measurements and the non-self-compensating inline dripper...

Biological treatment of drippers clogged by the use of treated domestic wastewater AGRIAMBI
Costa,Danniely O.; Batista,Rafael O.; Vale,Hudson S. M.; Sousa,Amanda B. de; Dombroski,Solange A. G.; Alves,Sandra M. C..
ABSTRACT This study aimed to recover the flow rate of clogged drippers with different doses and permanence times of the product MaxBio. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design in split-split-plot scheme, where the plots corresponded to product doses (80, 160, 240 and 320 mg L-1), subplots to the applied treatments (T1 - without biological treatment, T2 - 1st application of the product, and T3 - 2nd application of the product) and in sub-subplots the types of emitters (Plastro Hydrodrip Super, Netafim Tiran and Netafim PCJ-CNJ), with three replicates. The four irrigation units operated with treated domestic wastewater for 400 h in order to clog the emitters. After applying the product MaxBio, the flow rate of the drippers and the...

Performance of drippers in two filtering systems using sewage treatment effluent AGRIAMBI
Dalri,Alexandre B.; Santos,Gilmar O.; Dantas,Geffson de F.; Faria,Rogério T. de; Zanini,José R.; Palaretti,Luiz F..
ABSTRACT The objective of this study was to evaluate the performance of three models of drippers using treated sewage effluent, pure and diluted, and two types of filters, screen and disc. The treated sewage effluent used in the experiment was collected from the city’s treatment plant. The experiment included 12 lateral lines with three types of emitters to apply pure (100%) and diluted (50%) effluent filtered by screen and disc filters. The combination of those factors set the treatments: T1 (50% effluent diluted in fresh water filtered by a screen filter); T2 (50% effluent diluted in fresh water filtered by a disc filter); T3 (pure effluent filtered by a screen filter); T4 (pure effluent filtered by a disc filter). The results showed that the flat type...

Flow rate dynamics of pressure-compensating drippers under clogging effect AGRIAMBI
Pinto,Marinaldo F.; Molle,Bruno; Alves,Dinara G.; Ait-Mouheb,Nassim; Camargo,Antonio P. de; Frizzone,José A..
ABSTRACT The clogging dynamics of pressure-compensating drippers is still poorly addressed, and its understanding is quite important to control clogging. The aim of this study was to evaluate the flow performance of pressure-compensating drippers under clogging effect. Eight pressure-compensating emitters, model J-SC Jain PC-PLUS with nominal flow rate of 2.2 L h-1 were evaluated. The tests were run for 8 h d-1 for 4 weeks, a total of 160 h. Every 40 h, the concentration and granulometry of suspended particles were increased, by adding 125 mg L-1 of solids, composed of sand. The flow rate of the emitters was determined using a weight measurement system. Flow rate variations of the emitters did not follow a defined pattern. Clogging seems to occur randomly...
