Fenntarthatósági vizsgálatok a vidékfejlesztésben AgEcon
Csete, Maria.
A vizsgálat tárgyául a Tisza-tó térsége, illetve a Tisza-tó Térségi Fejlesztési Tanácsba tömörült 73 település szolgált. Hazánkban a fenntarthatósági vizsgálatok szerepe a vidékfejlesztésben kiemelt jelentőségű. A vidéki térségek fejlettségi szintjei és lehetőségei erőteljesen befolyásolhatják a fenntarthatóság gyakorlati megvalósításának esélyeit, amint azt korábbi vizsgálataink is alátámasztották. A vizsgált területen a támogatásokban meghirdetett fejlesztési elgondolások kérdőíves vizsgálatának eredményei alapján...

FARM INCOME AMONG HOUSUEHOLD PLOT FARMERS IN UKRAINE – THE IMPACT OF SOCIAL CAPITAL AgEcon
Wolz, Axel; Fritzsch, Jana; Buchenrieder, Gertrud; Nedoborovskyy, Andriy; Zinovchuk, Vitaly.
Following the two rounds of land reform in Ukraine since independence, household plot farmers emerged as the major suppliers of agricultural goods. But they form a very heterogeneous group. Not all of them are equally successful and integrated to markets. In general, a varying degree of access and adoption of production factors is identified as being of influence. In this paper, we argue that social capital is an additional factor contributing to higher agricultural incomes. We tested our hypothesis using primary evidence from a survey in Ukraine among 255 household plot farmers. Based on 23 social capital indicators we deduced four separate index variables linking the social capital dimension of form, i.e. structural and cognitive, with the social capital...

Facing decoupling: use of payments and investment reaction to decoupling in the EU AgEcon
Viaggi, Davide; Raggi, Meri; Gomez y Paloma, Sergio.
The main objective of this paper is to evaluate ex-post the effects of the 2003 reform, in particular decoupling, of the Common Agricultural Policy (CAP) in the European Union (EU), with a specific focus on farm investment behaviour. In the past years a number of studies have addressed the issue of the impact of EU policy reforms. However, long-term effects of policy changes and related impacts on structural and investment behaviour received relatively little attention. This study is based on a survey of farm households in a number of EU Member States. In the majority of cases, farmers stated they were indifferent to decoupling. Where any change occurred, the impact of decoupling was highly differentiated. Numerous reactions are better explained by various...
