The entomological exhibition of a Science museum and its contributions to non-formal Education Biological Sciences

The Insecta Class is the most diverse group of animals on the planet. A big part of this composition is available in the collections of Natural History Museums, being essential for researches and diffusion actions involving a specialized and lay public. This paper aimed to verify the importance of an entomological exhibition of a Science museum for the acquisition of new knowledge and conception change regarding insects. To this end, 128 fourth-graders from elementary school were asked to draw an insect and write a brief description of it in relation to their knowledge about insects. Educação Ambiental com Ênfase na Preservação dos Recursos Hídricos no Município de Campos do Jordão-SP. Ciências Agrárias

Every day kids and adolescents received a lot of information by the media, making them be away of their own natural environment. Using a special didactic material (specific profile and water analyze kits) , the main propose of this project was to involved the students of a poor neighborhood of Campos do Jordão, to make a deep analyzes about the environmental conditions of the stream that pass by near their school. During a semester students were invite to analyze the river, the water quality, the abundant vegetation and the urban occupation along the river and it influence. This analyze allow the students build their own conclusions, enrich the learning process and developing values through the natural resources.
