ABSTRACT: Ultrasonic energy is a promising tool in soil science. Soil aggregates breakdown susceptibility may have a significant effect on a range of soil physical properties of agronomic importance such as physical properties and erodibility. Soil dispersion characteristics curves give important informations about soil aggregate stability, and are influenced by soil mineralogy, organic matter and soil use and management. Interpretation of dispersion curves and the use of dispersion index and normalized dispersion index for aggregate stability assessment and the use of these indexes to estimate soil erodibility in brazilian soils are discussed.

ABSTRACT The Cerrado is a vegetation complex with a wide variety of phytophysiognomies, and sustainable management is essential for maintaining biodiversity. Morphopedology is a tool that can assist in developing plans for control of soil and land use, especially in evaluating the potential of soil erosion processes. This technique allows landscape units considered “homogeneous” to be distinguished, as a result of interaction between physiographic conditions. The aim of this study was to evaluate potential for erosion in São Miguel do Araguaia, state of Goiás, Brazil, through definition of morphopedological compartments (MPC), on the assumption that soil use has increased erosion. Viability of CLIGEN in the climatic conditions of Paraná state, Brazil AGRIAMBI

Studies on hydrology, agro-meteorology, soil loss and climate change scenarios depend on weather information, which may not be available. Weather generators, such as the CLIGEN, can synthesize daily climate series statistically similar to the observed data. The objective of this study was to evaluate the CLIGEN in generating series in the climatic conditions of Paraná, Brazil, which show transition between Cfa and Cfb climates. Observed data from 20 weather stations from 1975 to 2009 were compared with synthetic series generated with the same number of years.
