The objective of this study was to formulate a mathematical model to estimate digestible energy in animal feeds for tilapia. Literature results were used of the proximate composition of crude protein, ether extract, mineral matter and gross energy, as well as digestible energy obtained in biological assays. The data were subjected to stepwise backward multiple linear regression. Path analysis was performed to measure the direct and indirect effects of each independent variable on the dependent one. To validate the model, data from independent studies and values obtained from a digestibility trial with juvenile Nile tilapia testing five meat and bone meals (MBM) were used, using the Guelph feces collecting system and chromium oxide (III) as an indicator....

Determination of Diffused Irradiation from Horizontal Global Irradiation - Study for the City of Curitiba BABT
Souza,Muriele Bester de; Tonolo,Édwin Augusto; Yang,Renata Lautert; Tiepolo,Gerson Máximo; Urbanetz Junior,Jair.
Abstract Understanding the solar radiation values in the surface is important for the development of solar energy projects, obtaining through radiometers installed in certain places or publications as in solar energy atlases. Typically, solar or weather stations do not have sensors to measure diffuse irradiation due to high investment and the need for constant maintenance. This paper presents methods for the determination of diffuse irradiation from surface measured data of global horizontal irradiation in the city of Curitiba, obtained through pyranometers installed at the Federal University of Technology – Paraná (UTFPR) headquarters and from Curitiba-A807 National Institute of Meteorology (INMET) station. Two models are presented for the estimation of...

REFERENCE EVAPOTRANSPIRATION FORECASTING BY ARTIFICIAL NEURAL NETWORKS REA
Alves,Walison B.; Rolim,Glauco de S.; Aparecido,Lucas E. de O..
ABSTRACT: Evapotranspiration (ET) is the main component of water balance in agricultural systems and the most active variable of the hydrological cycle. In the literature, few studies have used the forecast the day before via Artificial Neural Networks (ANNs) for the northern region of São Paulo state, Brazil. Therefore, this aimed to predict the reference evapotranspiration for Jaboticabal, the major sugarcane-producing region of São Paulo state. We used a historical series of data on average air temperature, wind speed, net radiation, soil heat flux, and daily relative humidity from 2002 to 2012, for Jaboticabal, SP (Brazil). ET was estimated by Penman-Monteith method. To forecast reference evapotranspiration, we used a feed-forward Multi-Layer...

Estimativas do produto interno bruto dos municípios do bioma Cerrado. Infoteca-e
KINPARA, D. I..
ABSTRACT: This paper the Gross Internal Product (GIP) estimated of the Brazilian Savannah region between 1970 and 1996, when it was 100.84 billion dollars. This study was based on the following datasets: the number of muncipalities with respective GIP estimated in the Savannah and in the country; and the list of names and corresponding identification codes used in official surveys. The number of Brazilian municipalities increased by 43% in the last 30 years, most of them without regular economic records. In 1996, the savanna had 941 towns. The boundary of this region was based on the vegetation cover index. It has been modified dramatically due to agriculture and beef cattle ranching in the last three decades. In 1970, about 87 towns responded for 65% of...

Study on the population structure of the paradoxical frog, Pseudis bolbodactyla (Amphibia: Anura: Hylidae), using natural markings for individual identification Rev. Bras. Zool.
Ramalho,Werther P.; Jorge,Rafael F.; Baiocchi,Leandro B.; Peña,Alfredo P.; Pires,Ricardo A. P..
The goal of this study was to assess the population structure of Pseudis bolbodactyla Lutz, 1925 using natural markings to identify individuals. Recruitment, survival, and population size estimations were obtained using the Jolly-Seber stochastic method. A total of 166 individuals were captured, and the striped, spotted, and dotted patterns that make their recognition possible were recorded. Of the specimens captured, 27 were recaptured, including some at pre and post-metamorphic stages. The estimate maximum population size was 52. The indices of survival and recruitment varied among samplings. Sexual dimorphism in size and in the operational sex ratio were detected. Despite the limited scope of our characterization of the P. bolbodactyla population, our...
