| Abstract In the present study a banana, strawberry and juçara smoothie was developed using an experimental mixture design. The juçara proportion was kept constant while the banana:strawberry ratio varied and the main responses were the sensory acceptability and the antioxidant capacity. From five formulations, only the one with the highest percentage of strawberry was rejected, most likely due to its lower sugar content and higher acidity. In general, panelists chose the sweeter formulations, which were those with a higher percentage of banana. Relating to the consistency, the best formulation was the one containing the same proportion of strawberry and banana pulp, which provided a better flow to the product. | Abstract The objective of this work was to evaluate the effect of storage time and temperature on main characteristics of a juçara (20%), banana (40%) and strawberry (40%) pasteurized smoothie. The pasteurized smoothie was stored at 7 °C and 25 °C for 90 days. At both temperatures there was degradation of the smoothie anthocyanins, which, as expected, was more drastic in storage at room temperature, impacting also the instrumental color of the product. The microbiological quality of the product was assured at both storage temperatures, showing absence of Salmonella spp. and counting for thermotolerant coliforms <3 MPN.g-1, which is in accordance to Brazilian legislation. | Seeds of jussara palm (Euterpe edulis Mart.) are recalcitrant, presenting low longevity, high sensitivity to dehydration and to low temperatures of storage. Temperature conditions for temporary preservation of those seeds, with and without pulp, were studied. Mature fruits were harvested from 24 plants belonging to the palm collection of the Instituto Agronômico (IAC) located at Ubatuba, São Paulo State, Brazil, and taken in moisture-proof containers to the Universidade Estadual de São Paulo, in Botucatu, São Paulo State. | Jussara palm (Euterpe edulis) is a native plant of the Atlantic rainy forest, with large economic interest. The species is shade-tolerant and currently it is restricted to certain areas of difficult access. The most effective way to reintroduce it into the environment or increase the population density for conservation and commercial exploitation is promoting seed propagation. | Objetivou-se neste estudo, por meio de contagem de indivíduos classificados em diferentes estádios de desenvolvimento, conhecer a estrutura populacional da palmeira juçara (Euterpe edulis Mart.), presente na Mata Atlântica do Sul da Bahia. Os trabalhos foram desenvolvidos no Ecoparque de Una, Una, BA, Brasil. A população foi classificada em seis estádios: Plântula, Jovem I, Jovem II, Imaturo I, Imaturo II e Adulto, e em cada estádio, foram avaliados a densidade, as distribuições de freqüência de classes de altura de inserção das folhas, número de folhas, diâmetro à altura do peito (DAP) e diâmetro ao nível do solo (DAS). | Plantas sob forte sombreamento (2% ou 6% da luz solar direta) apresentaram, em relação às plantas sob maior nível de luz, menor biomassa, menores taxas de crescimento, menor razão raiz/parte aérea, menor massa foliar específica (MFE), menor razão clorofila a/b e maior razão de área foliar (RAF). | Immatures of Acanthocinini (Coleoptera, Cerambycidae, Lamiinae). Larva and pupa of Eutrypanus dorsalis (Germar, 1928), collected in trunks of Pinus elliottii Engelm., and Paratenthras martinsi Monné, 1998, collected in spathes of Scheelea phalerata (Mart. ex Spreng.) Burret, are described and illustrated. Larva and pupa of Lophopoeum timbouvae Lameere, 1884, collected in Hymenaea corbaril L., Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong and Pterogyne nitens Tul., are redescribed and illustrated. A table with all described immatures of Lamiinae, and a comparison among the immatures of Acanthocinini are presented. Uma alternativa para retirá-la desta lista seria o estímulo para o plantio comercial, focando o manejo dos frutos, que recebem a classificação de “superfruta” pelas suas propriedades químicas e nutricionais.
