| State of the Art: Since the beginning of the new millennium the sector of research on organic vegetable production has grown rapidly. An improved new kind of coordination is needed. | Aims: To identify the agronomic, economic and management factors that contribute to sustainable vegetable production systems Background: This project was conceived in response for the need to increase self sufficiency in the UK organic vegetable market. At present 43 % of organic vegetables are imported and there is the scope to increase the UK supply to the levels found in the conventional sector which in 2000 was 71% for vegetables. To achieve this growers need increasing levels of technical knowledge and information to be able to improve efficiency of production and quality and consistency of produce. | Die Statuserhebung soll anhand einer Auswertung von Daten (Literatur, Verbände, Kontrollstellen, Betriebe o.ä.) erfolgen. Zusätzlich zu Aspekten der betriebswirtschaftlichen Situation und der Vermarktungssituation deutscher ökologischer Gemüsebetriebe sind Daten zu Betriebsstrukturen, zu den wichtigsten Kulturen, zu Anbau- und Kulturverfahren (z.B. Düngung, Pflanzenschutz, Fruchtfolgen usw.) sowie zur innerbetrieblichen Verarbeitung zu erheben. Diese Parameter sollen vor allem vor dem Hintergrund regionaler Unterschiede Berücksichtigung finden. | Im Jahr 2004 wurde im Rahmen des Bundesprogramms Ökologischer Landbau das Projekt "Netzwerk im Ökologischen Gemüsebau" initiiert. Ziel war es, die Kommunikation zwischen Versuchswesen, Wissenschaft und Beratung im ökologischen Gemüsebau zu verbessern und dadurch der Praxis uneingeschränkten Zugang zu Versuchsergebnissen zu ermöglichen. Ergebnisse Im Teilprojekt 'Leitlinien' entstand das 260-seitige Handbuch 'Planung, Anlage und Auswertung von Versuchen im Ökologischen Gemüsebau', das als grundlegendes Orientierungswerk vor allem der Vereinheitlichung der Verfahren in der Versuchsanstellung dient.
