Banana crop nutrition: insights into different nutrient sources and soil fertilizer application strategies Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Guimarães,Gelton Geraldo Fernandes; Cantú,Rafael Ricardo; Scherer,Ramon Felipe; Beltrame,André Boldrin; Haro,Marcelo Mendes de.
ABSTRACT Considerable attention has been given to the development of new nutritional management strategies that can contribute to banana production be overestimated. The present study was motivated by the possibility that fertilizer application in front of the daughter plant might be more effective than application to the total banana production area. This study aimed to determine the most suitable site for soil collection to evaluate the chemical properties when fertilizer is applied in front of the daughter plant; to evaluate the efficacy of organic-mineral fertilizer in terms of soil nutrient availability, and to evaluate the effect on banana production. The experiment was conducted in three consolidated areas of banana plantation in Santa Catarina...

Dry matter and macronutrient accumulation in fruits of Conilon coffee with different ripening cycles Rev. Bras. Ciênc. Solo
Partelli,Fábio Luiz; Espindula,Marcelo Curitiba; Marré,Wellington Braida; Vieira,Henrique Duarte.
The period between anthesis and fruit ripening varies according to the Conilon coffee (Coffea canephora) genotype. Therefore, the time of the nutritional requirements for fruit formation may differ, depending on the formation phase and the genotype, and may directly affect split application of fertilizer. The aim of this study was to quantify the accumulation of dry matter and N, P, K, Ca, Mg and S at several stages in the fruit of the Conilon coffee genotype with different ripening cycles, which may suggest the need for split application of fertilizer in coffee. The experiment was carried out in the municipality of Nova Venecia, Espírito Santo, Brazil, throughout the reproductive cycle. The treatments were composed of four coffee genotypes with different...

Determination of homogeneous zones for liming recommendations of black pepper using geostatistics AGRIAMBI
Gontijo,Ivoney; Santos,Eduardo O. de J.; Partelli,Fábio L.; Gontijo,Andreia B. P. L.; Pires,Fábio R..
ABSTRACT Studies aimed at determining homogeneous zones and the spatial variability of soil characteristics may improve the efficiency of agricultural input applications. The purpose of this study was to determine homogeneous zones for liming applications and to characterize the spatial variability of characteristics related to soil acidity and productivity in an Oxisol cultivated with black pepper (Piper nigrum L.). This study was carried out in São Mateus, state of Espírito Santo, Brazil. The experimental site was 100 x 120 m. A grid with 126 sampling points was established. Three soil sub-samples were collected at each sampling point in the black pepper canopy areas, at a 0-0.20 m depth. Crop productivity was estimated by harvesting the three plants...

Phosphorus fertilization in sugarcane cultivation under different soil managements AGRIAMBI
Sousa Junior,Paulo R. de; Brunharo,Caio A. C. G.; Furlani,Carlos E. A.; Prado,Renato de M.; Maldonado Júnior,Walter; Zerbato,Cristiano.
ABSTRACT Soil preparation along with its chemical adjustment is the most important step in sugarcane plantation, especially because it provides proper conditions for plant development. The objective of the present research was to evaluate sugarcane response to the application of different phosphorus doses and their location, associated with both minimum soil tillage and conventional soil tillage. The experiment was conducted in a split-split-plot randomized block design, where the main plots were subjected to soil managements (minimum soil tillage or conventional soil tillage), the subplots to phosphorus doses in total area, and the sub-sub-plots to phosphorus doses in the crop rows. The evaluated variables were soil chemical parameters, sugarcane...
