El objetivo del presente estudio fue determinar el efecto de fertilización con N, P y K, en el crecimiento y la calidad de planta de Pinus patula y Pinus devoniana. Las plantas fueron cultivadas por un periodo de ocho meses, en contenedores de 120 cm3, usando como sustrato una mezcla de perlita, vermiculita y musgo turba en proporción 20:20:60. El experimento consistió en un diseño factorial 33 completamente al azar con tres repeticiones. Los factores probados fueron N, P y K cada uno de ellos con tres niveles. Los niveles de N fueron 0, 100 y 200 ppm; los de P, 0, 60 y 125 ppm, los de K 0,75 y 150 ppm. Abstract The objective was to investígate the effect of substrate compositions with and without the addition of controlled release fertilizer (CRF) and to determine the correlations between the morphological characteristics of Agonandra brasiliensis. Enterolobium contortisiliquum (Vell.) Morong. is a Mimosaceae tropical tree species recommended for heterogeneous reforestation of degraded tropical areas. "Timburi" seeds present low germination due to the high degree of seed dormancy. Different methods to overcome seed dormancy was compared: sanding, sanding followed by 24 hours water (25ºC) soaking, imbibition in boiling water followed by exposure to water at room temperature (28ºC), and concentrated sulfuric acid (5, 15, 30, 60, 120 or 180 minutes) followed by washing with tap water. The Macrophomina phaseolina (Tassi) Goid. fungus, causal agent of charcoal root rot, is considered one of the most important pathogens in forest nurseries. Recent studies in Chile have verified the antagonistic capacity of diverse bacterial isolates against M. phaseolina in vitro as well as in field testing. The objectives of this study were to identify Bacillus isolates and establish the mechanisms of antagonism against M. phaseolina. Isolates were identified with the bioMérieux biochemical kit.
