ABSTRACT: The use of pesticide mixtures constitutes a relatively common practice in rice crops. Thus, the aim of this work was to evaluate the physicochemical interaction among different pesticide tank mixes for use in paddy field rice. The study has followed technical standards specified in ABNT [Associação Brasileira de Normas Técnicas (Brazilian National Standards Organization)] NBR [Norma Brasileira Regulamentadora (Brazilian Regulatory Standard)] NBR 13875:2014 for the assessment of physicochemical compatibility by means of a dynamic technique. Treatments consisted of mixtures of 12 pesticides, which constituted 16 treatments, six of which are composed by mixing herbicides, six by mixing herbicide and insecticide, one by mixing fungicides, and three... |

Enhanced degradation of the fungicide metalaxyl was investigated in two soils: a gley humic (GH) and a Dark Red Latosol (LE), collected at sites never exposed to the fungicide. The soil samples were treated with successive applications of metalaxyl as a commercial formulation and 14C-metalaxyl in laboratory. Metalaxyl biodegradation was analyzed during 63 days by means of radiometric techniques to verify biomineralization and degradation product formation from the applied 14C-metalaxyl. Although biomineralization (maximum of 14 and 8% in the GH and LE soils, respectively), and partial degradation (about 32 and 48%, respectively) were detected in both soils, enhanced degradation was verified only in the GH soil. Results proved that metalaxyl behaves... |

ABSTRACT Due to the socioeconomic importance of common bean in Brazil, studies that allow establishing favorable conditions for not compromising the crop with white mold, in view of the enormous damages caused by this fungus, become vital to Brazilian agriculture. Therefore, the aim of this study was to evaluate the incidence and severity of white mold in common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris L.), cultivar ‘Madrepérola’, subjected to different irrigation intervals, planting densities and fungicide application. The research was conducted in Viçosa-MG, Brazil, in the years 2011 and 2012. The statistical analysis used the split-split-plot scheme. The fungicide applications (with or without fungicide) were allocated to plots, the irrigation intervals (3, 6, 9 and 12... |

Abstract This study aimed to establish an alternative treatment for post-harvest storage of Papaya (Carica papaya L.), var “Tainung 1” and to control major diseases at this stage. Two storage place were evaluated (room temperature and cold room); Six treatments (Control, Samurai 40ml/20l water, Serenade® 40ml/20l water, Sanatizer EUPROOFF® 10ml/20l water, EUPROOFF® + Serenade® + Samurai, Serenade® + Samurai), five storage periods (0, 3, 6, 9 and 12 days) and three seasons (December, January and February). Fruit weight loss (FWL), color index, number and size of lesions were evaluated and used to calculate the disease incidence and average of disease incidence. The FWL and index color of fruits were more affected by monthly variation than the treatments,... |
