DETERMINATION OF SOIL VOLUME BY PLANIALTIMETRIC SURVEY METHODS REA
Vanzela,Luiz S.; Araujo Junior,Osvaldo; Lima,Ronaldo C..
ABSTRACT Considering the importance of topographic surveys to determine soil volumes and study efficient and accessible alternatives for this operation, this study aimed to analyze methods and respective equipment for planialtimetric surveys to determine soil volume. An experimental grid was installed in an area locate in Fernandópolis, SP, Brazil, in which quotas were measured by geometric leveling (standard method), trigonometric leveling, leveling with receivers of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) by relative (frequencies L1/L2) and absolute positioning (code C/A) and extraction of altitudes in digital terrain model from SRTM and ASTER images. In comparison to geometric leveling, trigonometric leveling was the most accurate in determining...

Uso de piloto automático na implantação de pomares de citros REA
Oliveira,Tiago C. A.; Molin,José P..

POSITION ERRORS IN SOWING IN CURVED AND RECTILINEAR ROUTES USING AUTOPILOT REA
Santos,Adão F. dos; Correa,Lígia N.; Gírio,Lucas A. S.; Paixão,Carla S. S.; Silva,Rouverson P. da.
ABSTRACT The use of automatic routing significantly increases the yield and quality of agricultural operations and reduces the overlap rates between the mechanized set passes during the operation. The objective of this study was to analyse the quality of peanut sowing using automatic routing in two paths, curved and rectilinear, based on the error of parallelism and execution error, through statistical process control. The maps used came from an area of peanut seed production, in the city of Luzitânia, São Paulo, Brazil. The sowing was carried out by the execution of a project elaborated in CAD software that, for its elaboration, was taken into consideration the working width of the seeder-fertilizer, as well as the spacing of the crop. The CenterPoint RTX...

GPS receivers for georeferencing of spatial variability of soil attributes REA
Rosalen,David L; Rodrigues,Marcos S; Chioderoli,Carlos A; Brandão,Flavia J. C; Siqueira,Diego S.
The characterization of the spatial variability of soil attributes is essential to support agricultural practices in a sustainable manner. The use of geostatistics to characterize spatial variability of these attributes, such as soil resistance to penetration (RP) and gravimetric soil moisture (GM) is now usual practice in precision agriculture. The result of geostatistical analysis is dependent on the sample density and other factors according to the georeferencing methodology used. Thus, this study aimed to compare two methods of georeferencing to characterize the spatial variability of RP and GM as well as the spatial correlation of these variables. Sampling grid of 60 points spaced 20 m was used. For RP measurements, an electronic penetrometer was used...

The global navigation satellite system (GNSS) Transpolar Earth Reflectometry exploriNg system (G-TERN) was proposed in response to ESA's Earth Explorer 9 revised call by a team of 33 multi-disciplinary scientists. The primary objective of the mission is to quantify at high spatio-temporal resolution crucial characteristics, processes and interactions between sea ice, and other Earth system components in order to advance the understanding and prediction of climate change and its impacts on the environment and society. The objective is articulated through three key questions. 1) In a rapidly changing Arctic regime and under the resilient Antarctic sea ice trend, how will highly dynamic forcings and couplings between the various components of the ocean,...

GEROS-ISS (GEROS hereafter) stands for GNSS REflectometry, Radio Occultation and Scatterometry onboard the International Space Station. It is a scientific experiment, proposed to the European Space Agency (ESA) in 2011 for installation aboard the ISS. The main focus of GEROS is the dedicated use of signals from the currently available Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) for remote sensing of the System Earth with focus to Climate Change characterisation. The GEROS mission idea and the current status are briefly reviewed.

Parallelism error in peanut sowing operation with auto-steer guidance AGRIAMBI
Santos,Adão F. dos; Silva,Rouverson P. da; Tavares,Tiago O.; Ormond,Antonio T. S.; Rosalen,David L.; Assis,Leonardo C. de.
ABSTRACT GNSS positioning errors are certain, regardless of the adopted positioning method. In agriculture, these errors may represent higher or lower overlapping rates between passes of a mechanical assembly, affecting operation quality. Therefore, this study evaluated the main errors arising from peanut sowing operation performed with an auto-steer guidance system by an RTX signal, using the Statistical Process Control techniques. The errors evaluated were: in tractor lateral displacement, project execution, and parallelism between passes of tractor-seeder set. The average errors of project execution in all passes were within the range specified by the manufacturer, i.e. lower than 3.8 cm. The average error of tractor-seeder set was also within the...

Numerical Simulations to Assess ART and MART Performance for Ionospheric Tomography of Chapman Profiles Anais da ABC (AABC)
PROL,FABRICIO S.; CAMARGO,PAULO O.; MUELLA,MARCIO T.A.H..
ABSTRACT The incomplete geometrical coverage of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) makes the ionospheric tomographic system an ill-conditioned problem for ionospheric imaging. In order to detect the principal limitations of the ill-conditioned tomographic solutions, numerical simulations of the ionosphere are under constant investigation. In this paper, we show an investigation of the accuracy of Algebraic Reconstruction Technique (ART) and Multiplicative ART (MART) for performing tomographic reconstruction of Chapman profiles using a simulated optimum scenario of GNSS signals tracked by ground-based receivers. Chapman functions were used to represent the ionospheric morphology and a set of analyses was conducted to assess ART and MART...
