Identification of two species of Binema Travassos 1925 (Oxyurida: Travassosinematidae) and Cameronia arecoensis Marchissio and Miralles 1987 (Oxyurida: Thelastomatidae) based on morphological and 18S rRNA partial sequence Anais da ABC (AABC)
RUSCONI,JOSÉ M.; MONTES,MARTÍN; FERRARI,WALTER; ACHINELLY,MARÍA FERNANDA.
Abstract: Oxyurid nematodes parasitizing the mole cricket Neoscapteriscus vicinus were isolated in the framework of sampling fields of mole-crickets from the pampean region, in Argentina. In this work, molecular characterization of the 18S rRNA partial sequence of nematodes belonging to the families Thelastomatidae (Cameronia arecoensis Marchissio and Miralles 1987) and Travassosinematidae (Binema korsakowi Sergiev 1923 and Binema klossae, Marchissio and Miralles 1993) were carried out. This is the first world report of sequences belonging to B. klossae and C. arecoensis and first Argentinian report of B. korsakowi sequence. Also, morphological and morphometric features of B. klossae, B. korsakowi and C. arecoensis from Argentinian populations are reported.

Embryonic stem-like cells derived from in vitro produced bovine blastocysts BABT
Freitas,Erika Regina Leal de; Sanches,Bruno Valente; Gambarini,Maria Lúcia; Oliveira Filho,Benedito Dias; Guillo,Lidia Andreu.
The aim of this work was to study the derivation of bovine embryonic stem-like (ES-like) cells from the inner cell mass (ICM) of in vitro produced blastocysts. The ICMs were mechanically isolated and six out of seventeen (35%) ICMs could attach to a monolayer of murine embryonic fibroblasts (MEF). Ten days after, primary outgrowths were mechanically dissected into several small clumps and transferred to a new MEF layer. Cells were further propagated and passaged by physical dissociation over a 60 days period. The pluripotency of the bovine ES-like cells was confirmed by RT-PCR of Oct-4 and STAT-3 gene markers. The colonies were weakly stained for alkaline phosphatase and the mesoderm and endoderm differentiation gene markers such as GATA-4 and Flk-1,...

Inheritance of isozyme variants in Nothofagus antarctica (G.Forster) Oersted JBAG
Pastorino,M.J.; Marchelli,P.; Milleron,M.; Gallo,L.A..
The analysis of the genetic variation and evolutionary processes related to the conservation and use of forest genetic resources requires reliable tools. The aim of the present study is to determine the mode of inheritance of isozyme variants of Nothofagus antarctica, species of economic and ecological importance inhabiting the temperate forests of southern South America. Buds from 56 trees and their offspring were subjected to horizontal starch gel electrophoresis. Good resolution and consistent band patterns were obtained from five out of 15 enzyme systems surveyed. Expected equal number of heterozygous and homozygous seedlings of open pollination from a putative heterozygous mother was tested by the Chi-square test. Superoxide dismutase (SOD) revealed...
