| The objective of this work was to evaluate the spore density and diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) in soil aggregates from fields of "murundus" (large mounds of soil) in areas converted and not converted to agriculture. The experiment was conducted in a completely randomized design with five replicates, in a 5x3 factorial arrangement: five areas and three aggregate classes (macro-, meso-, and microaggregates). The evaluated variables were: spore density and diversity of AMF, total glomalin, total organic carbon (TOC), total extraradical mycelium (TEM), and geometric mean diameter (GMD) of soil aggregates. | The objective of this experiment was to investigate the effects of different particle sizes, expressed as Geometric Mean Diameter (GMD) of corn (0.336mm, 0.585mm, 0.856mm and 1.12mm) of mash and pelleted broiler chicken diets on the weight of the gizzard, duodenum and jejunum+ileum; on the pH of the gizzard and small intestine and on the characteristics of the duodenal mucous layer (number and height of villi and crypt depth) in 42-day-old broilers. The physical form and the particle size of the diet had no significant effect on gizzard and intestine pH (p > 0.05). | African star apple (Chrysophyllum albidum) is a popular tree in tropical region with all the parts used for food and medicinal purposes. This study focused on the determination of some physical properties, mechanical properties, proximate composition, and phytochemical properties of the fruit. The experiment was conducted using standard procedures. Results for the physical properties of the fruits have values as follows: length per fruit 3.41 – 5.53 cm, width per fruit 3.31 – 5.08 cm, and thickness per fruit 2.93 – 4.73 cm, respectively. | In the study, effects of aminoethoxyvinylglycine (AVG) treatment and maturity stages on physico-mechanical and chemical properties of fruit of plum fruit (Prunus domestica cv. ‘President’) was investigated. The effect AVG doses for each maturity stage on geometric mean diameter and surface area of plum fruit was statistically significant.
